Thinks and says are 2 different things. I think most coaches when asked that question would have said “hopefully we’ll get to see it in March” or something. I also think it’s notable he used the words “kick his butt” considering he sat Fix. Agree.

Currently in the middle of watching. Maybe a tad drawn out by putting it into 6 episodes, but pretty good overall and worth the $4.99 (SD), you can tell a lot of people effort went into it. I like how they had some of the guys watching the match together. Alger/Tate was particularly fun. I honestly don’t know who wins, don’t spoil it please!

I agree there’s missing context in the “they could’ve wrestled” quotes and him saying “Fix would kick Crookham’s butt” doesn’t necessarily mean Smith thinks Fix should be #1 (because maybe he thinks Vito should be). But are you saying Smith might not have said Fix could kick his butt?

I wasn’t really paying attention to the “who should be ranked #1” line. I do think it’s interesting how he says “Fix would kick his butt” after one guy showed up and the other one didn’t though.

Debatable of course but I wonder if you’re overvaluing Amine based on his international success. In reality his NCAA career is probably similar to guys like Kemerer or Hayden Hidlay who Starocci beat (as well as Trent Hidlay that Brooks beat). But yeah overall their careers are very comparable but I think I’d give Starocci the edge for beating a previous champ (Lewis). Brooks has not beaten an NCAA Champ (either at the time or would become one in the future). Although Keckeisen may change that.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm? I can understand complaints about guys getting 5 tournaments (which Starocci can if he competes next season), but Brooks will only have 4 tournaments.

I was a little surprised they used Davis at 125 after not using him against Lehigh… The announcers were funny. I think it was either during the Starocci or Brooks match “a lot on the line here!!”

HR unsurprisingly is coming around on AJ joining the team (although not all of them). I would be curious if some of the same people had different opinions of him joining the Hawks when the charges were first announced -
Spratley/Hendrickson didn’t look too friendly during the match, but I think they did afterwards. As @TexRef mentioned, the announcers said he was grayshirting in Minnesota. Yeah I was basically yelling at the computer during the Jamison injury…it was obviously his elbow, even if they couldn’t tell watching the slow mo it was clearly what the trainers were tending to and then right before they restarted wrestling Jamison was grabbing it as well.

At one point the announcers were talking about the upcoming matches “we” could win, then I think even said something like “sorry I know this is an ESPN+ feed not OU” lol
