  1. IIRC I have seen PSU guys set up a cradle with the ankle ride…just not sure if it was against anyone that good.
  2. The “action or stall” call is only in neutral. But I wouldn’t mind guys being hit for stalling on top for just driving guys out of bounds.
  3. Grabbing the ankle can be used as a breakdown. As someone said earlier, the act of sitting on the ankle isn’t necessarily stalling. It’s staying there and not doing anything with it that is. I’d be in favor of adding it to the 5 count list, but we probably don’t want to have and excessive amount of those situations
  4. Actually there were already 2 threads if you count the what’s PSU’s secret sauce thread, with one of the original 2 being from Cinnabons. This is Cinnabon’s 2nd thread on the subject and 3rd in total, I think there’s been adequate discussion of it here. I was surprised at the lack of discussion on Cornell’s forum but I’d bet some of them think it was due to academics and not a flip. Fair amount of discussion on BWI, who seem to think this is the start of the pipeline to McCort including Bo Bassett and Jax Forrest. But, the Gibson names may have been bigger if McCort wasn’t banned from PIAA states
  5. I presume he could be by the second semester
  6. Saw some speculation that Erik could have a shot at starting at 157 this year if Haines redshirts, which could be plausible
  7. Ah, one of the last discussions at themat… I’d give him a decent chance against Fix, and not much chance against RBY but wouldn’t be totally shocked if he did beat him
  8. Yeah I think most know about no athletic scholarships in the Ivys. Do no Ivy’s give academic scholarships either?
  9. Ah didn’t know that, thanks. IIRC (could be wrong), there was a newspaper article where Erik said he was “offered a full ride” to Cornell by Koll (although I think it was later edited). I would assume for Koll to know that going in it would have had to have been based on family income anyway. But, I’d still put my money on Mason just really wanted to go to PSU and Erik wanted to be with him.
  10. Ah, got ya. Although I would doubt that’d be the case at least for Erik who has claimed to have gotten a “full ride for academics” to Cornell - https://www.federationforchildren.org/voices-for-choice/erik-gibson/ Although is he there now or TC3? Can you get an academic scholarship 2 years in advance? Regardless, my guess is Mason really wanted to go to PSU and they were a package deal.
  11. Did we also enjoy the “Yianni could be #2 on the GOAT list” era?
  12. As long as it’s freestyle, seems to be allowed
  13. Aren’t a lot of them just called “intrasquad” matches?
  14. So what is that, 5 transfers in Pitt’s lineup? Phillippi Heller x2 Casto Slinger
  15. I predict if Lee is at least 15-0 he will win the Hodge alone, barring some sort of crazy season by someone who finishes with a 100% bonus rate or something. Although should O’Toole be disqualified for being the only Mizzou guy to not tech or pin against Lindenwood? I think this thread is a decent question btw even if I’m responding to a Cinnabon alias. In spite of the trolling and bet welching, Cinnabon can start some good discussions…
  16. Do you mean any athletic scholarship, or any scholarship at all? Erik was on record as saying he was getting a “full ride” to Cornell, so I’m sure they’re getting something at PSU either academically or need-based. Depending on how much that is, I would think Mason at least would get something athletic, doubt Erik though.
  17. It’s different than Steveson because Steveson was never charged. But I agree, if Ferrari is acquitted he’ll probably get another chance in D1. I’m not convinced it will be at a top 15 or so school though. Another comparison could be Dayton Racer although not sure on the timing that actual charges came into the picture. Apparently he was expelled from Virginia Tech for alleged sexual assault, but was still eventually able to get a chance at tOSU - https://www.abc4.com/news/top-stories/the-justice-files-former-athlete-called-a-serial-date-rapist/
  18. Depending on your definition of “the field,” they are probably worse than the field at 125 since Suriano. But to be fair, most of that is driven by the 3 years they expected to have Suriano - 2018, 2019, 2020. Howard was 2-2 at NCAA’s in 2021 and Hildebrandt 1-2 last year, probably about equivalent to “the field.” But not looking good for this year. As far as Ferrari goes, I’d agree with the post saying Cael probably would have been sick of him sooner than Smith. He seems to stay away from guys with character issues or whatever you wanna call it to begin with, and doesn’t seem to have great results turning around the ones that do (although I’m not sure anyone does).
  19. Looks like wrestlestat has anointed McHenry as the starter
