  1. Gable had about 25 seconds left in the match after Wyatt's TD, but was belly down on the mat. If MN threw the brick to challenge the takedown, they would of lost the challenge (of course) but Gable would've gotten a re-start from the referee's position, where he'd have a better chance of getting an escape. So was MN out of bricks? Were they too ethical to abuse the rules this way? Or did they just not think of this?
  2. DOGE outsourced this to the Intermat message boards. We're just doing our patriotic duty.
  3. Now that's a guy who never got suspiciously muscular late in his career. Great example.
  4. That's kinda the point of the entire thread. The NCAA does not police this in any meaningful way. My kid's wrestled thru HS and college and been tested zero times. The lack of policing is what causes this type of speculation. The "eyeball test" is not perfect, but it's not nothing and it's all we have right now. And this is not a PSU thing; this is an NCAA-wide issue.
  5. These guys are not 17 year-old college kids. These are kids who have been held back, taken RS yrs. - they're adding lbs. in their 20s. I wish I had your level of naivete.
  6. Is there any precedent to everyone thinking that PSU may turn a blind eye to some indiscretions? Any examples at all? It doesn't even have to be wrestling. It could even be another sport.
  7. Bro, your son was juicing. It's time to come to Jesus. Post a pic and I'll tell you within 2 seconds.
  8. We can rule out Chumbley, Keuter, and myself based only on aesthetics.
  9. Brock Hardy's taking on all the side-effects without getting any the benefits.
  10. You're anonymous on an anonymous message board. Name names, bro.
  11. I was there. It was a mixture of boos and cheers.
  12. This is a wrestling message board. Never underestimate the dumbness of wrestlers.
  13. Any other sports where you get your oil checked though?
  14. This is the right answer. I don't know any wrestlers that want their season to cut across 2 academic semesters of school. Moving to spring-only also moves NCAAs away from basketball championships, which takes eyeballs away from wrestling. Really a no-brainer.
  15. Pro tip for the rookies - don't buy round 5 tix ahead of time. You can get deals from people who are either: (i) sick of wrestling after 2 days of non-stop matches; or (ii) hungover on Sat. and not interested in medal matches. Even if you don't get a deal, buy a nosebleed ticket just to get in and sneak down to the lower bowl - there'll be plenty of open seats.
  16. Everyone under age 50 has left the chat
  17. I'm calling shenanigans on this story. Pure hogwash.
  18. 1. Quarterfinals - last round where guys who may not have expected to get this far just let it fly. Best upsets of the tourney. 2. Blood round - no explanation necessary. Guys really seem to clam up in the semis and finals. The stakes are high, but the wrestling tends to be conservative and boring.
  19. You're the one who turned it into a work analogy. Now we're switching back?
  20. I hope his girlfriend has the seat in front of you at NCAAs.
