    Pro tip for the rookies - don't buy round 5 tix ahead of time. You can get deals from people who are either: (i) sick of wrestling after 2 days of non-stop matches; or (ii) hungover on Sat. and not interested in medal matches. Even if you don't get a deal, buy a nosebleed ticket just to get in and sneak down to the lower bowl - there'll be plenty of open seats.

    1. Quarterfinals - last round where guys who may not have expected to get this far just let it fly. Best upsets of the tourney. 2. Blood round - no explanation necessary. Guys really seem to clam up in the semis and finals. The stakes are high, but the wrestling tends to be conservative and boring.

    I must be misremembering. My recollection is he was not wrestling his natural weight to accommodate the lineup, but maybe that was only one year.

    Lots of guys mentioned above did eventually win a title. I feel the worst for Plecher. He waited his turn in the OSU room behind some studs just to get screwed his senior yr.

    Unfortunately for this message board, everything drops on twitter first. So for the anti-tech people who refuse to join twitter, we'll let you know. FWIW, I don't see any situation where he's allowed to compete. This would create an incentive for programs in future years to accidentally not track their athletes and ask for forgiveness at the 11th hour. Total BS.

    Is he the "chosen suffering" guy who also struggled back from a debilitating bike accident to be an empathetic coach? Or is he the POS who accuses Rutgers of being cowards after Rotogzke slams their kid? Do we like Tom Ryan or is his "nice guy/Christian image purely a media product?

    Not exactly. Some people think a coach's highest priority should be as ambassadors of the sport. Some think their highest priority should be developing student athletes. Some think it should be winning. Winning is always a goal - it just may rank differently among other priorities depending on the coach.

    You must be new here - we propose hypotheticals all the time. And Aristotle, with his empirical and practical approach, would've agreed with me that Keck should've passed on the all-star.

    There's a logic to this. I guess since we've already seen Keck-Plott (3x) and Star-McEnelly, it makes sense to now do Keck-McEnelly and Star-Plott. Different seeding, same semis.

    This literally happens more than it doesn't. We rarely get returning NCAA champs wrestling at the all-star classic because there's no upside, only downside.
