  1. Neves is an NCAA qualifier as a frosh, so UNC is not bad at Hwt. Ferrari may fit in better at 197. But if he waits until next season to decide, that may screw Neves out of his chance to hit the portal.
  2. Heard from inside sources at Stanford that the team there didn't love Koll. He spent all his time fundraising and glad-handing instead of coaching. Maybe that was necessary though, given the dire straits the program was in after almost getting cancelled.
  3. Judge is now questioning whether the roster caps should be phased in and current athletes on rosters can be grandfathered/exempt from the cap.
  4. Didn't even win ACC wrestler of the year. How good could he be?
  5. I thought you had to opt in to be eligible for the NCAA tourney. I must be incorrect since obviously the Ivies wouldn't opt out if it meant that.
  6. One of the best twitter accounts for youth wrestling technique. Giving back to the sport.
  7. Tommy Bartlett's also backing up the Brinks truck. Mars Cheese Palace. Wilderness Resort. We've awakened a giant.
  8. Elite athletes will use whatever they can for extra motivation - so yes. Watch any interview about Michael Jordan.
  9. Gave Ryder extra motivation to win a title and any H2H match-ups. That may not have been included in their calculus.
  10. You missed April Fools Day by 48 hrs.
  11. Right? What's next, Brown? LOL.
  12. I could be wrong, but was of the understanding that Connor Mirasola was a light 197 who could make 184. With Cole being his twin, that'd make him a very, very light heavy.
  13. Well, Cael did do it and he's a top coach so you're right to that extent. Some coaches may be reluctant based on long term consequences of this practice. It'll be an interesting to see if this impacts PSUs current team and future recruiting. I know Cael's done this before (e.g. Max Dean) but this move is higher profile and getting more publicity.
  14. I'll start: Arnold - great wrestler, but can't win the spot at 184 and would have to beat out an AA at 174. Connor Mirasola - could be an AA somewhere but stuck behind Barr. Could become part of the Askren-to-Mizzou pipeline. Cole Mirasola - could be a great 197 somewhere, but stuck as an undersized Hwt.
  15. I briefly fell for that. He could've gotten away with people thinking it was Angelo it if he was a little more subdued.
  16. You ever try to tackle someone when they're doing the splits? Damn near impossible.
  17. No - most coaches wouldn't bring in a transfer that makes them 2% better at the weight (maybe not even that) but risks damaging the team chemistry and their reputation for future recruits.
  18. That means they're driving thru Ohio. Tom Ryan's hiding in the bushes with one of those police spike strips laid across the highway.
  19. In that case, he has to transfer to Ohio St. then, right? It's the only way to close the loop.
  20. Mirasolas would be riding the bench for multiple yrs. They need to get their rear ends into the portal too.
  21. OK St. has a very good 184 in Brayden Thompson, who's paid his dues and waited his turn behind Plott. I'm sure Taylor and Ryder would love to get Ryder to OK St. to give a big F-U to Cael. But wouldn't that make Taylor just as bad as Cael? Recruiting over your own guys who've been paying their dues in the room is a bad look, but something Cael has shown he's not afraid to do. This could be Taylor's chance to show everyone that he's not like Cael. He's loyal to the guys on his team - could help with future recruiting pitches.
  22. Interesting. Maybe the plan is Haines takes a redshirt, Welsh stays at 174 (someone said elsewhere that he's wrestling 174 this summer), Barr to 184, then both Mirasolas can fit in the lineup?
  23. Maybe he just stops taking creatine and the weight problem goes away.
  24. Always wish I could've been a thrower. Fun for the crowd, you're never out of a match, guys wrestle you different and are afraid to lock up.
