Is Spence Lee out of the hospital yet?
98lberEating2Lunches replied to AgaveMaria's topic in College Wrestling
Some amount of silence to be broke tomorrow. -
I would've rephrased Q2. Earning a riding time point is working for a point. Preventing an escape in short time, is effectively working for a point. I guess it meant should be read as required to work for a near fall. I personally don't like it, because it seems to require too much subjective referee judgment. I would prefer what some consider top stalling (leg riding without attempting a turn) to result in a double-stall and return to neutral without an escape point, only after riding time exceeds two minutes.

Potential Rule Changes Vote sent to coaches
98lberEating2Lunches replied to 1032004's topic in College Wrestling
I can see reducing bonus point value in consolation brackets to make MFFs worth no points rather than 2. Maybe even cut all bonus point in half for the first round a wrestler enters wrestle backs. -
Stay workman like until then.

Understandable. Dryden didn't look so great recently, but has been taking the mat. Nebraska did put Burwick in for the final Coaches' Ranking, where he is 28th. I figure Nebraska expected neither Dryden or Burwick would earn a B1G allocation. I'm thinking it will be Burwick. I think Nebraska didn't want to give additional looks and feels of Burwick, knowing he'd most likely have to earn one of the B1G allocations rather than get an at large. I think that may be why Dryden saw action. Also, normally, I'd think being put in for the ranking would be a little psychological boost vs being left out. That is, unless affected parties on the team had been made aware of any shenanigans afoot.

Burwikk finishes 10th at B1Gs and doesn't get an at large bid. Nebraska misses out 2nd place at NCAAs to Iowa by 0.5 team points. All of the @jajensen09 support is for not.

Does Anyone Else Like the Ads on this Site?
98lberEating2Lunches replied to MedicineMan's topic in College Wrestling
Just maybe the ads reflect one's search history or text message contents. That's been my experience here. Text or Gmail a topic, or search for something, and nothing will purge it but more searches, especially to buy, something else. -

Team or wrestler? Which ranking(s)? Only going from the first ranking? If one was once ranked, but is no longer ranked, how far down do you assume they currently are to determine how far they've dropped? Do you exclude once ranked wrestlers who have been replaced in the starting lineup (whether or not through injury)? There's a guy on here who might answer a reasonably clarified question. -
What idiot coaches vote in the NCAA Coaches poll?

Oklahoma State over Michigan 24-15
98lberEating2Lunches replied to BaldAt23's topic in College Wrestling
Maybe I should've used "broadcast" or "streamed" although that is how many these days use their "televisions." The dual will broadcast live on the MatScouts Rokfin Page. This is not a pay-per-view event so you can watch if you already subscribe to InterMat or MatScouts on Rokfin. "Big" (for Michigan) as in hyped and held at a special venue (promoted as a event) where Michigan has been deemed a worthy opponent for a historically great program. But all these details have nothing to do with the point of my response. I'll consider that par for the course. -
Oklahoma State over Michigan 24-15

Big televised match. I would think a big TV personality might appreciate her son participating in it. Could be a way to further the Con$uelo$ family interest in Michigan wrestling success. -
Wrong. You left out the "or" because you didn't quote the source correctly.
-
Pretty shitty English for an English dictionary. Perhaps you didn't quote it correctly. The "act of deciding to" need not be coupled with the how. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/plan (See B1 and understand what "or" means.)
-
Try searching the meaning of "plan to do something" (context is everything).
-
The Cambridge Dictionary would disagree when it comes to a "plan to do something." It's ok to be wrong.

Great work!!! . Thanks.

Obviously, you have assumed I limited my paraphrasing post to the text of a specific Tweet. I did not. Here is the direct quote (from Kyle to Kelly Bachman during their podcast interview; begins at 55:16 mark; ends at 56:53 mark) that I paraphrased: "My situation is, um, I-I-I had decided to transfer after last year's NCAA tournament. Umm, I-I-I'd kinda been building up to it at that point, and I was like I need a change. You know, I need a change for, you know, my academic situation. Um, I need a change for just my-my wrestling program situation. Um, location-wise, you know, I-I just didn't assimilate into Madison as well as I though I would." The post of mine, with which you took umbrage, was 100% accurate. The above quote is accurate reflected by: "According to his own words, Kyle had planned to transfer after NCAAs and before Lamont was recruited."

Disrespect toward Cael Sanderson by Iowa fans
98lberEating2Lunches replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Haters gonna hate. -
Because that's how he felt. He believed the Wisconsin AD should've informed all of its athletes when the portal entry rule came into effect for sports beyond football and basketball, where each of these sports could have unique deadlines. Taken at his word, Kyle amplified his situation hoping to prevent other athletes from suffering a similar fate. All parties agreed that the Wisconsin AD didn't inform, and without doing research, I am assuming other NCAA institutions had informed their athletes. I think the advertised/attributed NCAA position--that NCAA member institutions aren't responsible for reasonable efforts to ensure their athletes are informed of the current transfer rules--was a cop out. Ultimately, I think Kyle's waiver was granted, because he reemphasized his original reason to plan to transfer had to do with the major he now sought. That is one of the identified reasons for no loss of eligibility when missing the portal entry deadline. I am thinking the Wisconsin AD compliance department supported this by agreeing the university did not offer the specific (or equivalent) courses of interest.

According to his own words, Kyle had planned to transfer after NCAAs and before Lamont was recruited. He just didn't know about the new no later than portal entry date.

Iowa is favored over PSU in the dual for sure
98lberEating2Lunches replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
I guess I for sure don't understand the meaning of "for sure." ... Totally.
