  1. His mom has submitted him several times.
  2. The 'they' was apparently Nebraska. A 'they' was also the Nebraska & Wisconsin ADs' Compliance Staff who determined an NPO was not possible. This 'they' collaborated and worked with the NCAA compliance staff. Glad it's over and Kyle gets to wrestle ths semester.
  3. I thought they said they'd announce it today.
  4. My guess is Nebraska revised its waiver request to primarily focus on Nebraska having the courses that Kyle is interested in pursuing, and that they weren't available at Wisconsin. And Wisconsin AD compliance could've supported this assertion by identifying mutually exclusive curriculum between the two universities. No Bono involvement needed. This consideration seemed to me to be casually mentioned in the recent podcast, where Kyle had also been clear his original request for waiver primarily rested on not being informed about the new portal deadline. In other words, Nebraska figured out how to work the NCAA bureaucracy. (Shhhh. Don't tell anybody.)
  5. What are you guys going on about? He is totally reinforcing the brand he's long been cultivating. Eventually he'll reap what he's sown.
  6. The NCAA revised its policy and NPO form?
  7. The Wisconsin AD consulted a palm reader and was told the wrestling team bus catching on fire was the result of bad karma, so...
  8. I have. Not long ago there was a wrestling rule dealing with hair length / unnatural hair. I read several claim protecting wrestlers from injury was the reason for the rule's existence. It definitely got changed due to people becoming personally offended. Mind you, l've seen many injuries during wrestling matches but never one due to hair style. But to be fair, I've also never seen a bow and arrow result in an injury and nevertheless believe it's more likely to result in an injury than hair style.
  9. The answer is one of judgment based on an individual's morals and ethics. These can be expected to vary. Hindi might say it boils down to one having only the best of intentions govern one's actions. By not signing, I conclude Wisconsin's AD values strict compliance to the rules that they are responsible to enforce (and accurately report on to the NCAA) more than what might cause them to sign the NPO.
  10. Same happens for youth baseball where weight cutting isn't a thing. I think it has more to do with kid's desire for more instant gratification, along with their reticence to commit to longer term skills development at a young age. It takes parental guidance and fun (not tedious practice that seems like work) to overcome. Some crazy parents do it right. Others seek out and leave it to the right kind of coaches (hence club$).
  11. You mean like hockey but with less costly equipment and even more niche in the US? It should be more like basketball, IMHO, but for those on the shorter side of height.
  12. Finally for once someone is accusing someone besides me of being Tbar (or NJDan, whomever TF they are).
  13. Pitzer's rides of Schultz and Hilger were both impressive given the amount of weight he appears to be giving up. But yes, Hilger failed to fully ride the rider.
  14. Hilger was commited to riding with time expiring, as he led 2-1. A defensive pin was called just before time expired.
  15. I believe it's headed there team-dual schedule-wise. I also believe it's headed toward ONLY optional developmental participation in tournaments for all first semester true freshman, including the limitation of 5 competition dates. But that number could drop further as it applies to true freshman in their first semester. I've read some don't agree with Iowa's new Soldier Salute tournament, but it may be more strategic than some have considered. Anticipating the above possibility might add credence to Iowa's approach, as it can provide a late first semester whole team/true freshman competition date with substantially reduced travel expenses than other options.
  16. HEfsW?
  17. BTN+ is streaming both, if you weren't already aware.
  18. I agree with you. Manning said in his Bader interview that Wisconsin AD was still working with Nebraska. I continue to find the context, timing, and motivation of Bono's tweet odd. If only this would work. Wisconsin AD compliance would have to creative with the NPO in a way that they were not falsifying information provided to the NCAA. The NPO has both AD's acknowledge recognizition of the NCAA rule to provide accurate information to the NCAA. I agree that I see the NPO no longer being required is a positive first step.
  19. Are you arguing in bad faith? (Asking for a friend)
  20. Obviously you didn't listen to Kyle's podcast. Left Wisconsin on good terms. Said nothing bad about Bono. Knows he's at the mercy of Wisconsin AD compliance now that NCAA rejected his transfer waiver exception. Haven't seen any explanation how Wisconsin AD compliance is supposed to certify NPO truthfully. But I remain open to listening.
  21. Don't know. Haven't seen any public statement making that claim. Since we no know AD Compliance is responsible for the NPO certification, I imagine what is an acceptable interpretation of the form and its guidance is being discussed. Imagine being the one in the Wisconsin AD compliance office being asked to sign. Imagine further if you had gone on the record stating you didn't believe you could truthfully sign. If a Wisconsin compliance weighed in and it was documented in some maintained record in one direction, then that would present a challenge to be overcome. I would think a NCAA institution's athletic department's compliance office openly flouting a rule would not be met favorably by the NCAA. That's why I think all the public squabbling was not in Kyle's best interest. It gave a lot of visibility to what could've just been a mundane transfer. But to Kyle's credit, he appears to have truthfully gone thru the full NCAA process before falling back to the NPO and encouraging Wisconsin to further consider signing it.
  22. Yes. Without the NPO being signed by both institutions, because his transfer waiver exception and all appeals have been exhausted. He explains this in the podcast. He also says he decided to transfer right after NCAAa (not that he was just thinking of it) and the reason he didn't enter the transfer portal was he was taking his time, thinking he had the time to take. He makes no reference of Taylor Lamont's arrival as being part of his decision. Mentions other factors though like best interest of his academics. He also makes clear the basis of his waiver exception request was that the portal entry rule was new for this year to wrestling, and he had no reasonable way to know it existed to consider it. He said the NCAA responded that it is not the responsibility of its member institutions to inform the student athletes of the transfer rules. Kyle said there were other less than truthful ways he could've done his waiver exception request, but he didn't think that was right. I respect Kyle's integrity. His and Coach Manning's tone toward Wisconsin seems much more deferential now. Basically asking for a favor, regardless of the letter or intent of the May 1 rule and NPO certification. He seems to now have home to recognize that losing a year of eligibility isn't the end of his world, even if it would be a great loss to him. Said he's happy to share his voice so a similar thing doesn't happen to others.

Lots of talk of North Dakota wrestling early. Then onto his preference for a NCAA dual championship. About half way in the conversation is how he ended up at Wisconsin with Bono. Gets to the transfer issue discussion around 55 minutes in, prefaced by the host with 'as much as you can divulge or are willing to.'
  24. If Wisconsin can convince themselves that item 1 of the NPO certification applies to the current moment versus the point in time they withdrew any scholarship from Kyle or his transfer came into effect, then I think they'll sign the NPO. Sort if like what Bill Clinton said about the "what meaning of the word 'is' is." If I were a betting man, I'd bet that's the interpretation the Nebraska AD is trying to convince the Wisconsin AD to take, knowing the Wisconsin AD has recognized it has some culpability in Kyle's dilemma.
  25. The hawk is out today.
