Was there a major parade celebrating the Army's 200th birthday?
This is pathetic. The Army is just one branch of the military and who else has a big birthday parade specifically for their military? Almost every country's military originated around the same time of the country itself so this is one of the dumbest things I can think of. A huge part of this is obviously the fact that it's Trump's birthday, even though we won't officially state that.
Yes, it's all over the place and there's even a YouTube video of him saying it.
For the wingers, if it wasn't reported on Fox News (how convenient of them to ignore this), then it didn't happen.
I can guarantee that he expanded whatever plans there were. There are literally military parades happening every week around the country. A pre-existing plan for a military parade of some sort doesn't mean anything. The size and cost associated with this particular one is the major issue.
It should be 100% privately funded. Waste of taxpayer dollars. I don't care about it and neither does anybody I know, whatsoever. And I was in the military for 6 years. Honorable discharge w/ several awards. Never wanted to be a waste of taxpayer dollars though.
actually, I bet the mobilization of 4,000 national guard troops and 700 active duty marines is costing a lot more than any damage that would have been caused by protesters.
Again, you need to read. The Madison one (just the one closest to where I live) is called "No Kings." That's a reference to Trump, not ICE specifically.
As I stated, the original protests were more specifically toward ICE. The more recent ones are increasingly being directed toward the Trump Regime, in general. Madison is just one example. It's called a "No Kings" march, scheduled for Saturday.
Sounds like those were minor so I could clarify that the ones in LA were the first significant ones. I really don't see how that changes anything. More recent protests are directed increasingly toward Trump in general and less toward ICE specifically.
I don't know about that, but if they did they were much much smaller so has no bearing on the conversation whatsoever. Trump escalated the situation. Now protests are happening all over the country, soon coming to a city near you.
I don't see a problem with personal protective equipment but I'm not even going to go that far because you folks typically make claims without substantiated info to back it up.
Weird. I guess that's the Trump Regime's fault that they're still funding them. If they're getting the money from this regime, is it illegal for them to use the funding to provide personal protective gear to people that could save them from injuries? That is, assuming that your conspiracy theory is even correct.
I'm not going to waste my time responding to bogus propaganda from "right angle news network." Once you have something legit, then maybe we can talk. Either way, I'm not getting excited about "face shields." I'd want some protection too if I was around all these trigger-happy troops that are clearly escalating the situation. Better that than losing an eye.
When will you ever learn that the wingers really aren't truthful about anything. The only question is HOW FAR they are bending the truth.
The LA protests didn't get really bad until AFTER Trump escalated the situation. That's also what caused the protests to spread nationwide.
Lesson here is that it's better to only use the force that's absolutely necessary to handle a situation.
Well, yah. For his birthday too. I've participated in military parades myself and we didn't typically carry loaded weapons and use "force" against protesters as part of those parades.
