  1. Also, your credibility was shot as you admitted that you work in the insurance industry. Busted. You obviously have a vested interest here.
  2. I've also worked in the insurance industry and am very close to an actuary and attorney that have dealt significantly with that industry as a regulator and admin law judge, respectively. To say that insurance companies are 100% controlled by regulators is plain ignorance. it's that simple. They always have significant control over what types of policies they sell, how contracts are worded and the inevitable subjectivity that arises related to unique and borderline circumstances. Of course they'll get in trouble with the state insurance commission if they deny too many claims but they have PLENTY of wiggle room below that threshold.
  3. Bonus points, huh? I'd love it if a 8 pt differential was the over/under in Vegas. Ii'd take that bet all day long.
  4. Horrible. We shouldn't send money to them, Ukraine or especially Israel. US throwing money all over the world to help our corporations make more money at taxpayer expense is ridiculous. Our military is simply a steering wheel for corporate profits. They don't protect our own country at all.
  5. Yup. Not true at all. The company definitely has some say in their own policies, such as which claims they can shoot down. The states regulate the insurance companies but can't regulate every last detail.
  6. Don't care. I'm not political.
  7. Baby boomers benefit by not fixing it. Us younger folks get screwed.
  8. None of that is remotely realistic so it's a diversion. Congress won't vote to make themselves accountable.
  9. And good luck saving $ by booting illegals. Most of them actually work and are relatively young. It will probably cost more than save.
  10. Good luck even making a dent simply by going after the fed work force. Dreamland. Delusional.
  11. To the wingers: what is the fix for this fund that will be insolvent in about 15 years? Keep going w status quo so we can just screw over the next generation?
  12. Another deflection. Yes, our govt sucks and screwed this up. So should we keep this bs going or cut it out right now?
  13. You're simply being obtuse. There are math gurus or actuaries that can do the calculations. I don't have hours to do that. I provided something to start with. Raise the eligibility age first and see if there's still more to do. This is a VERY simple and sound concept. Fund is not solvent.
  14. That's arbitrary. One or both, enough to make the fund solvent long term. This is a very simple concept. MUCH simpler and more effective than trying to make a sand grain sized dent (at best) by going after federal workers. Perdonally, id raise ss taxes but thats politicsl suicide so, if not, I'd then start by raising the full benefit age from 67 to 69 and see what that does to the fund. If it still isn't solvent then decrease the benefits. However, there is an infinite # of ways with combinations of degrees with which to accomplish this.
  15. U could also save a lot of money by elimating the fat insurance company profits but that's also impossible since they own the politicians and that's associated w "socalism."
  16. Are u serious? It's very simple. You raise the eligibility age and/or cut benefits. Those are the only options if u don't increase the respective taxes (which is better imo but political suicide as we continue to drift off the deep end to the rt).
  17. 1st whack job conspiracy theory ever by a politician.
  18. Also, Fix News is more obsessed w this story than anybody so ur theory falls flat on its face right there.
  19. Bs deflection and also a lie. You know that's not why people are obsessed w catching this guy.
  20. What's your take on why this particular murder is so much more important than the hundreds of other murders in this country every day?
  21. The obsession with this is sickening. He's one of hundreds of people murdered everyday in this country and he was nothing special except being a rich dude.
  22. You continue to deflect. First, it wasn't technically illegal. 2nd, both parties supported this. 3rd, we still have this problem, regardless of who caused it. We need to deal w it. Let's make REAL cuts to the budget instead of this small time bs that really fixes nothing whatsoever except scoring political points for the idiots.
  23. I'm astonished that so many people care so much about this particular murder. 1st world problems.
