    100% irrelevant. Biden increased tariffs on China too. This is a full blown trade war though, and we're all alone now. Trump showed more weakness today by exempting Chinese electronics. Xi is laughing. Entire world is laughing at that fat and weak idiot.

    Is anybody else putting tariffs on China though? Just because they're working w the u.s. doesn't mean they are joining our side vs China. China can hang in there until at least 2029 (even though I still think trump runs into major problems by early 2027 anyway). No catastrophe for them if u.s. is the only big country putting big tariffs on them.

    Im talking about the diversity of their export markets. Now only 16% of their exports go to u.s. US would need help to completely topple them. Good luck getting that after putting 10% tariffs on all your former allies.

    Lmao. China can import food from and export to any other country. Like I said, they'll be 100% fine unless other countries join Trump. Nobody is though. Nada. Zero. Yah, it's painful for them but Xi won't even talk despite Trump begging him to "make a deal." We're the (or we were) world's reserve currency and China isn't. We have a lot farther to fall and you're seeing that. Dollar is collapsing. Xi sees the blood in the water and is ready to feast.

    It will be tough but either way a blue House will significantly grind down his agenda. Then, with less than 2 years until another election, more winger senators will be pressured to oppose a lame duck old man with diapers and dementia that ruined our economy.

    WTO may just take their side based upon trumps universal 10% tariffs, which are a ripoff of other countries. He's isolating us. So far, nobody is joining us against China. U.S. losing. China is diversified and will do fine if rest of world is willing to buy their products.

    Both. The fact that all of those are happening concurrently is highly unusual and bad AND the unraveling bond market is the worst of all of them. It's not complicated. VERY simple for both to be true at same time.

    I guess we'll see about that. Economy collapsing is gonna put tremendous pressure on wingers to oppose Trump. The 2026 mid terms are gonna put pressure on Senators, even if they're not up for election. Meanwhile, Xi can do essentially what he wants, indefinitely.
