Just because something does not go the way you expect it to does not mean it is partisan. I suppose the same is true about the Supreme Court, right? Yes I realize this isn't a checkmate moment but c'mon quit being so damn combative all the time. My Side vs Your Side is exactly what's wrong with this damn country. It's not teams.

Anthony Cassar: "Cael keeps you grounded in your faith"

Ruth quietly and routinely prayed to the Porcelain God on weekend evenings until he met his maker. It was a revival convention held in the parking lot of a local fine dining restaurant and when they found him in a glassy eyed trance repeating himself in ancient tongues "Yo quiero Taco Bell. Live Más Nittany Lions" -
Anthony Cassar: "Cael keeps you grounded in your faith"

May I refer you to the official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with the article "Joseph Smith saw the Prophet Saw God and Jesus in First Vision" "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today numbers more than 14 million. Latter-day Saints revere Joseph Smith as a prophet, just as they revere biblical prophets such as Moses and Isaiah." So luckily you and I agree that it's a poophole loophole. No false commonwealth prophets! -
He hasn't been the same since Uncle John confiscated his fridge full of water bottles

Loophole: Joseph Smith was just a man. But also a prophet. But also no false prophets. -

Gentlemen's bet Russia and Belarus are allowed to compete under the pretense that the war in Ukraine is still ongoing? They may boycott but my bet is that they are allowed to show up.

To add and just to clarify before anyone jumps down my hot take: I think Steveson IS the bad draw.
-
Agreed on all three of the above. And does everyone want to hear an unpopular but not-so-hot take? Because Steveson has no rankings points he will be randomly drawn into the bracket which could lead to three negative outcomes. Negative outcome #1 - he "only" gets silver. Negative outcome # 2 - the brackets are balanced with two of the Big 4 on each side, he loses to the finalist, then grabs a bronze. Negative outcome #3 - the worst scenario is an overloaded side featuring three of the Big 4. He could conceivably lose twice and go home with no medal. Am I saying it will happen? No - I think September 17th at approximately 12:30 CST he is doing another backflip. But this is why they wrestle the matches and it is absolutely in the realm of realistic. You can do the same exercise with Dake, Sidakov, and Kadimagomedov. Depending on the draw, one of the best in the world is potentially going home empty handed.

Who wants to hear my dick joke? It's a long one!

Which is still weird because in the case of Zahid the NCAA listened to WADA after the hot test and subsequent vacated rankings win in Rome. It doesn't matter, I just wanted to complain about it a few years later.

Serious or shitpost? Asking because a dual groin tear can quickly lead to becoming a slow burn career-ending kind of injury for adults due to the loss of elasticity. Looking at 16-20 weeks recovery and that is if the muscoskeletal system responds optimally. If this is actually the injury then at least it happened now so he has time to recover as best as possible before Iran's olympic selection but this is going to put him even further down on the ladder since they do not always utilize an OTT format for their team selection. Of course, you could have just been throwing out a dick joke and this doesn't matter.

You have to go to Indiana to get that kind of information

Go get Hall, Futrell, and Thomas. Year 2 leap engaged

Gable is 100% going. The question is if he is 100% all in and no insider is going to leak that nugget right now. If he’s still spending time doing both then we are going to find out in a couple weeks if his talent really is *that* much better than the competition that he can gap them. If it’s not then I have a feeling his fire will be fully reignited and he’s going to come back all in for Paris. I hope he wins gold this year, but I feel really bad for the Olympics competitors if he doesn’t…

TIL Facundo will be Dake’s partner. If Valencia gets the right draw against some lung grabbers he could have an interesting run. Just as likely for BBQ though. I hate to say it but I think Chamizo regresses to bronze gatekeeper level. Unfortunately Father Time is undefeated and not even Chamizo’s jaw-dropping defense can stave it off. Unless there is a weird draw for BLR and RUS I just don’t see it.

Oh sorry, I should add that I grew up in rural southern IL. Big Red isn't just a type of gum, it's a mindset. There was a school shooting a few years ago in my hometown. Would you like to take a guess what those same folks are suddenly interested in changing today? I'll give you a hint: The majority does not like the letters A and R or the number 1 and 5. Maybe it's because those blowhards couldn't defend their innocent children. Then they saw Uvalde cosplaying their worst nightmare of "well I would have..." bullshit. And then they realized change is necessary from a thesis drafted during the musket days of slavery. -

Everyone wants to talk shit until they get a nice statistical WKN breakdown. Limit guns, fiscal responsibility, quit cutting education, push back against healthcare 1%, socially liberal. That is all pretty much any American wants. But what do I know, I just represent a good darn many of you and the global income every day. -

well ackshually https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-two-decade-red-state-murder-problem Takeaways The murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Donald Trump has exceeded the murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Joe Biden in every year from 2000 to 2020. Over this 21-year span, this Red State murder gap has steadily widened from a low of 9% more per capita red state murders in 2003 and 2004 to 44% more per capita red state murders in 2019, before settling back to 43% in 2020. Altogether, the per capita Red State murder rate was 23% higher than the Blue State murder rate when all 21 years were combined. If Blue State murder rates were as high as Red State murder rates, Biden-voting states would have suffered over 45,000 more murders between 2000 and 2020. Even when murders in the largest cities in red states are removed, overall murder rates in Trump-voting states were 12% higher than Biden-voting states across this 21-year period and were higher in 18 of the 21 years observed.
