  1. Is he also a psycho softball dad? Because he has psycho softball dad written all over.
  2. Ahh got it, I was just answering your direct question. OP is technically correct but wrong in practicallity. Hendrickson would have to pin/tech everyone including Kerk to have even been considered this year, and at that point he still would have been a finalist at best. Brand value and strength of competition means something in Hodge voter's eyes and this year's 285 crop + Air Force schedule doesn't carry enough weight, though that is no fault of Hendrickson's other than choosing to enlist in the first place.
  3. Jason Nolf was jobbed so bad. He was a generational NCAA wrestler who had the awful luck of being "only" the second most dominating wrestler his sophomore (Zain), junior (Spencer), and senior (Bo's Helping Hand) seasons. If there was ever a season that a Hodge should have legitimately had co-winners it should have been his senior season.
  4. Of beating Kerk? Yes. Did you not read the part that says
  5. If you look at the U23 worlds thread I believe I said something to the effect of "Hendrickson is going to win NCAAs. All aboard the Hendrickson train choo choo!" Then it came out that his knee was ripped up winning that world gold. Then he decided to let the VA take care of his knee later in life. Then Kerk went full-on Hulk Smash at the all star event. Is Hendrickson dominating even on a bum knee? Yes. Do I want him to win because he is the smoothest technician heavyweight has seen since Gwiz? Yes. Does he have a snowflake's chance in hell of winning a Hodge? Absolutely not.
  6. Hill didn't run into Kyle Snyder and trade titles with him at Fargo. I'd give the nod to Cox.
  7. Stevan Micic
  8. Just for shits and giggles I'm changing my pick and taking Cox at 125. The rumor mill is saying that he is going heavyweight because he doesn't want to cut weight for his last olympic run.
  9. hahahaha. okay.
  10. They say it's always projection. Maybe Papa Ferrari's twin turbos have shrunken down to the size of Focus four cylinders after years of cycling the engine
  11. As previously said in this thread, ask Kyle Snyder what senior level accomplishments mean for age group awards.
  12. No bones about it, anyone who wins a 4th NCAA title is also winning the Hodge this year.
  13. If Brooks, Starocci, and Fix all lose plus 165 winner has at least one loss, then Vito is absolutely in play. It's a very unlikely scenario but certainly is in play.
  14. Even if Hidlay upsets Brooks, the order goes like this to the voters: 1) undefeated 165 2) Starocci 3) Fix if he wins and goes undefeated 4) Vito 5) One loss 165 6) Hidlay But honestly the most realistic outcome is each 4x'er gets a Hodge because it has become an NFL MVP award at this point.
  15. No way. Wisconsin needs a coach who knows how to successfully navigate the transfer portal
  16. Donny Pritzlaff approves this message
  17. Normally I would chuckle and laugh you off, but honestly this year is as likely as any that the D3 champ could also win the D1 bracket. 125 is a mess and conference schedules are only giving an illusion of order rather than the reality of chaos.
  18. The city had barely recovered from the Great Chicago Fire caused by Mrs. O'Leary's cow when a new battle came up. Those same business men you cited were already busy valiantly serving their brothers and sisters in the Great Ketchup War of 1851. It was either let Northwestern keep its name or let Big Ketchup win and thank god those brave men said "Up with sport peppers, down with Heinz! The Oregon Trail will never happen!"
  19. It was established when it was located in the northwest region of the country.
  20. Deceptive subscription and cancellation methods are always a boost to the P&L
  21. This one puts the gold in black and gold. Shut it down this isn't just comment *of the day, no... this COTY
  22. Askren will never be the best with little kids because he is one of the rare ones that understands running kids into the ground with 140 matches is an awful benchmark. Oh wait...
  23. Askren isn't leaving to coach. He's just leaving. Unless it's some weird ass NAIA school which knowing Askren wouldn't be a shock that's he's playing close to the vest still. He won't find a competent assistant in his deficiencies because they are all ready for the next step and the overlap is too much for Askren's expectations (Scott, Ramos, Jaggers, etc). If he does go to college it's going to be an NAIA or D2 school that doesn't care about him being weird on a professional level.
  24. Finals for sure. Only Nolf can beat him at this point and he is a major underdog at the senior level, no matter how many strides he has gained. That's not a knock on Nolf, that's acknowledging that even an aging JB is a mf'n dog. Now watch O'Toole lose NCAAs and win the 74 spot lol
  25. I know upsets always happen, but there is no way Trumble takes out Kollin Moore day one to have the honor of losing to Snyder.
