  1. I heard the same thing about Glory not weighing in against Lee
  2. Who are those people beating? I appreciate the homerism but you are talking about very good wrestlers like these were random upset and this deserves a deeper dive. Steiber got hurt and additionally had unfair expectations based on his name. He was a lot more Eli than Peyton ya know? Moore choked exactly one tourney "down" to 4th place (frosh made semis/took 3rd with Cox winning the bracket, Nickal, and covid) Tomasello overachieved his frosh year if anything. And he can always hang his hat on beating Spencer Lee at B1Gs. Sasso wasn't ever beating AOC or Yianni McKenna lost to Meredith who lost to the champ then DNP, transferred to tOSU and lost to Meredith in the semis again then lost to Yianni
  3. Either 1) RBY is following the NLWC mantra of "we don't care about seeds we will just show up to beat everyone" OR 2) All-time duck of Spencer Lee. I'm taking door #2 and not even Baschamania can change my mind.
  4. Could the 125 31, 32, and 33 seeds sit on each others shoulders and be the 1 seed at 285?
  5. Say what you will about him, but at least Chris Bono never forced his crappy album onto my phone and wouldn't let me delete it.
  6. It will be good right up until it isn't. First the NCAA revenue sports will transform into amateur sports. Then the MBA-ification will occur. Then interest will wane rapidly as results are dictated by a bottom line rather than championships. Oh and don't forget that higher education attendance both in person and general enrollment is about to radically transform over the next decade which will have a much larger impact on NCAA sports/what it becomes than I think anyone is acknowledging. Here is some additional food for thought: You don't need a degree to code, you just need a place to begin building your network. You don't need a degree for manual labor, you need to attend a trade school. You don't need to be weighed down with a lifetime of high interest student loans at the beginning of your adult *life that have the ability to cripple you for a lifetime, you just need to gain relevant skills in the upcoming automated world. I work in high level technology for a company that dictates, literally, how the world runs and some of my best and brightest are folks with only a high school or associate's degree. Teachers and medical education are two of the few fields that will be fully excluded but even they are already being heavily transformed. I don't bring these topics up as debate fodder that could derail the conversation, I'm only sharing them as additional bullet points to support what @Idaho is saying.
  7. For the uninitiated of when Dake decided the internet was wrong and he was sick and tired of being 0-100 in fantasy matchups versus Taylor because of what happened in high school. Undefeated for going on a dozen years against Taylor since 4/21/2012. First Period: Second Period:
  8. I'd say it's a 33.3% bet since that is his current winning percentage against Carr
  9. I really like this because it incentivizes competing in other tournies with the goal of increasing your seed therefore increasing your likelihood of reaching the finals. It's not perfect and nothing ever will be, but I like the intent behind the decision. ETA: a lot of people were already forfeiting once they qualified, but this clearly bifurcated the competitions into two mini tournies. No ambiguity, just incentive.
  10. Down with the east coast coastal elitists showing off their travel plans and views from their suites! Like this guy! Heard there will be a leak called the #WillieFiles that will put the Panama Papers to shame.
  11. Bubba gets style points added for who he beat, how he won, and recognition of creating one of the first modern media iconic moments in wrestling.
  12. Is it because of infrastructure ineptitude, because too many people were wearing their tinfoil hats at the same time, or something more nefarious?
  13. Look what you did
  14. Keep your eyes open at 79. Uruguay has a dark hose that goes by the name of Dylan Palacio Pintado.
  15. Indiana: Steven Micic, world champion and NCAA finalist. Division 1's first wrestler with a TUE for viagra and Centrum 50+ Mason Parris, world bronze and NCAA champion. Jim did you know that he also was a football player and track star in high school? I'm sure you didn't before but you do now. And I don't care what anyone thinks. Gable Steveson spent his kids club years with the Harvey Twisters and therefore the Illinois delegation has concluded legal precedent exists to claim him rather than northwest Indiana which is just where people go when they want to leave the city. There will be no further arbitration on the matter.
  16. Bono is a boner. But be careful what you wish for Wiscy fans because you might just get it.
  17. Yeah he's too short and already too big to be an effective edge. He's going inside and gaining weight, which means the Polar Bear path is an unlikely one.
  18. Not possible. This is the internet and I'm not about to let pesky little things like "facts" get in my way. Why should I stand corrected when I can double down and stand tall against the Main Stream Forumedia.
  19. wtf are you even talking about. Hidlay of all people? The kid won't even drink a beer.
  20. Correct. I appreciate the shine on people outside of Penn State athletes, but it's just not realistic. Great for shooting the breeze in between rounds at the bar though!
  21. Yeah Ringer is the one that started the whole lifetime accomplishment award and Retherford got hosed that year. I don't think they were calculating any of the domination points yet, but if I remember (and I could be very wrong) that according to unofficial napkin math Nolf had more regular season domination points but then tore his MCL and Zain went nuts through the postseason to nab that not-yet-created title.
  22. Is he also a psycho softball dad? Because he has psycho softball dad written all over.
  23. Ahh got it, I was just answering your direct question. OP is technically correct but wrong in practicallity. Hendrickson would have to pin/tech everyone including Kerk to have even been considered this year, and at that point he still would have been a finalist at best. Brand value and strength of competition means something in Hodge voter's eyes and this year's 285 crop + Air Force schedule doesn't carry enough weight, though that is no fault of Hendrickson's other than choosing to enlist in the first place.
  24. Jason Nolf was jobbed so bad. He was a generational NCAA wrestler who had the awful luck of being "only" the second most dominating wrestler his sophomore (Zain), junior (Spencer), and senior (Bo's Helping Hand) seasons. If there was ever a season that a Hodge should have legitimately had co-winners it should have been his senior season.
