  1. Hamiti has to be kicking himself that he did not just belly out on that last td - his path is quite challenging!
  2. the top bracket seems overloaded and the bottom one a far more favorable path but maybe these NCAA seeding wizards know better? (anybody believe this?)
  3. I think this will be the bracket that gets busted most quickly and severely with 133 and 125 in the running too.
  4. Starocci v Lewis in the quarters - damn shame
  5. Vito 6th - yikes
  6. I like 69 and consider it tops
  7. I would take the under that this is the NCAA finals matchup.
  8. a different kind of anticipation, but Starocci's first match to see if he is healthy
  9. Do not know the bios of the olt timey champs before Sculley, but of the 11 most recent champs, I think five are from the Lehigh Valley (Cruz, Rohn, Lievbermans, and Sculley). Two guys who were finalists or at least ranked #2 and at that level from Lehigh Valley include Trenge and Mike Brown - not sure if Brown made the finals but know he was very close to NCAA title.
  10. Dake lost to a Bucknell wrestler in EIWA finals if memory serves. But he was quite good!
  11. good analysis - culture of the team and school also could be a factor Michigan gets transfers from Stanford, Northwestern, Princeton - have my doubts that Ok State and Iowa have the same attraction for their graduate school programs. Might matter to some wrestlers when evaluating transfer choices.
  12. All true but just a perfect storm. While they are not my team, they are still one of the very best programs and will be in the hunt at KC and at least a top 5 team next year.
  13. Feldman is interesting - but not ready to say he has shown dominance potential, Let's see if he makes the NCAA semis and how he does - agree he could be a future champ.
  14. Penn Quakers sending 8. 9 is their record if memory serves. If the stater at 165 was able to compete, I think they might have gotten to 9. Happy w 8!
  15. Davis v Stanich Figueroa v Camacho Crookham v. Fix v Vito v. Crookham Orine v Ragusin Mendez v Echemendia Gomez v anyone - he is fun Lovett v. Henson Haines v Shapiro Messenbrink if he makes the semis, same if he makes the finals Lewis v Welsh Ayzerov v Keckeisen Foca v Plott Brooks v. Hidlay v. Beard v. Brooks Taylor v. Bastida
  16. Providence is nice town and nice to see the Bears on the rise!
  17. some years the difference between a 1 and 2 seed seems consequential - but at 125 this year seems like not so much other than whatever publicity the program can squeeze out of a #1 seed
  18. Good analysis - not a fan but I think the coaches at Iowa are a good fit. It is still a magnet program and will have plenty of success going forward.
  19. I wonder if Nathan Taylor might get a 6 or 7 seed and avoid the potential Quarterfinal match w Kerk.
  20. After Kerk? Bastida #2. Feldman#3
  21. Baker from Cornell is tough and not surprised he is having success
  22. I think coaches may make strategic decisions about the quarterfinal matchups when deciding whether and how hard to lobby to move from 3 to 2. Hard to know the particular motivations unless they are expressed. Might be better use of energy to challenge from 4 to 3 seed. Coaches have different views on these things.
  23. i'd guess Cornell Coach did not challenge the preseed and cares little between 2 or 3 seed
