Why do I care?

This is unwarranted expansion of government power over its people. India. DemLight supports sellings weopons to boost the US economy. I do not support war profiteering. Mergers are fine. Monopolies are bad. They limit the benefits from competition. The actions of others and laws do not make right and wrong.

Who knows? That is the literature for my opinion based on personal experience and critical thought.

It is tax season and politics season. My property taxes have increased 30%. My insurance costs are significantly up. My purchase power is down 25%. Some folks on here want the government to take progressively more and more.

Everyone should be treated equally, meaning everyone should be flat-taxed at the same rate regardless of income. I generally don't care that someone makes $30M annually and another makes $10K yearly. I do not care that some people have an easier path through generational wealth. I care if the person making $10K a year lacks the opportunity to earn more for themself and their heirs. Government intervention may be required to prevent monopolies of opportunity but not to swipe higher rates of one's money. I recognize the same tax rate has a higher burden on low-income people... but this is countered through welfare services to meet basic needs. If there is not enough tax revenue... then increase the flat tax on all people until it is. Tax realized capital gains as income at the same flat tax rate.

Ah, taxes – Which system is better? Progressive taxation with varying rates based on income or a flat tax system applying a uniform rate for all? First, what are the considerations for choosing which system is better? Example: simplicity, economic growth, social impact, fairness, equity Second, what is the appropriate threshold for each consideration? Example: Simplicity Companies send a flat rate percentage from individual paychecks to the government. No individual annual tax form is required. No deductions, exemptions, or special considerations. Finally, which system is better at addressing those considerations? Example: A flat tax rate is better for simplicity.

The idea of taxing someone after they leave the state is absurd. But the idea of a state getting back some of the incentive money and tax breaks that helped enable $30M+ annual income has merit.

I've heard the Apollo multiball is something else! I was able to play these pins on Friday night during down time for my daughter's wrestling tournament... Here's the thing that Dave Ramsey gets right. Get an emergency fund. Get out of debt. Put aside money for children's college. Pay off the house. Build wealth. Then use the accumulated wealth to give back. The US is on step 1. Right now, it has no business taking in illegal immigrants.
