  1. Turns out it was 50/50. Koll won 3 matches in 1943 before leaving to fight in WWII where won the bronze star. Then returned to college and won 33 more in a row.
  2. Most of those were freestyle. They used to wrestle NCAA and AAU back in the day.
  3. Yes, I should have said 6-2. Win first round, then take two losses of any kind. I believe it is moot, though. Didn't Lehigh enter Lopes?
  4. I know you want to believe I am a democrat.
  5. It didn't, and still doesn't, deserve an answer. Ask the question of someone who made the statement.
  6. You should only ascribe to me things I have said. Maybe next time.
  7. If by winning you mean paying more for a Honda. Sure.
  8. Did they enter Carter Young or Teague Travis? Edit: confirmed
  9. Another abuse loophole that needs closing.
  10. They do not come out until Wednesday this year. It is a change from previous years when they did come out on Monday.
  11. From #31 at 157 to #5 at 149. Like a rocket.
  12. In thinking about dark horses I originally wanted to limit it to guys outside of the top 8 as they are already ranked for AA. But then I got to thinking about the 9 - 12 group and how they are only a blood round win away (in theory), from AA. So I decided to limit myself to 13 and higher. The higher the darker. Then I looked for guys with some rankings momentum. Here is what I have: I love that there are guys from Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, Campbell, Bucknell, Navy, Army, and Bakersfield that are rallying into their conference tournaments. Those are the guys I am pulling hardest for.
  13. When looking for Greg's obituary I came across this tweet about him that I really enjoyed, so thought I would share.
  14. Or his family and friends. The idea that Solana, Ripple, or Cardano would be included in a crypto strategic reserve is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. And yet here we are. Trump is on social media stating these coins will be part of a strategic reserve: “directed the Presidential Working Group to move forward on a Crypto Strategic Reserve that includes XRP, SOL, and ADA.” These coins are not like Bitcoin or Ethereum. They are pseudo-equity in platforms for developers. Or they are just a gambling game (opinions vary though no development of note goes on, so take that for what it is worth), But they are not digital gold like BTC or ETH. This looks and feels like market manipulation. And maybe Trump is the one getting manipulated here. Which might be worse than if was doing it for himself.
  15. McEnelley has a tier 1 win (Berge) and two tier 2 wins. Plott's highest win is tier 3.
  16. Better win %, higher quality wins score, better common opponents. Similar RPI right now, not sure which way that goes after conference tournament, ditto coaches' rank. Push on head to head, and conference finish (assuming they are both second).
  17. I second all the sentiments above. @ILLINIWrestlingBlog was a personal favorite of mine. I will miss his humor and unwavering support for and love of his Illini.
  18. Big 12 only seeds 8 of 13, so probably just means whoever is entered is unseeded.
  19. He would need to meet two of the at-large criteria. He could take two loses at EIWA and fall to 5-2 (71.4%) and still make the win percentage criteria. His win over Braeden Davis gives him the second criteria. But, then he will probably not be in the top 4 of the at-large pool due to his lack of RPI, quality wins (just Davis for sure, maybe Rini), win%, and maybe conference placement. Touch and go.
  20. You have to go alllllllll the way back to last year to find this once in a year event. Or the year before that. Or the year before that.
  21. If he loses to Starocci in the final and Keckheisen wins B12, I think #3, but maybe #4 behind Foca. Among the seeding criteria his only head to head is with Berge (25%) and he wins that. He also takes quality wins over the field. Even though he has fewer than others, his are in higher tiers. Not sure if they split this 20% (15/5) or not. If Foca wins Ivy then he gets the 15% for conference placement over McEnelly, which could be the difference, if it also influences the coaches' rank (10%). But if the coaches do not flip them he should keep the lead and be in the #3 slot due to a better RPI (10%).
