  1. Both were Brands idea. But it is hilarious that he keeps acting like "that guy", and his coach keeps saying "not so much".
  2. It sure seems that way. Arnold is hilariously bad at meme attempts.
  3. Maybe they are taking Arnold's claim literally.
  4. Agreed. New match thread makes sense.
  5. Yes, his response is very tone deaf.
  6. Rock Legends 125 Jett Strickenberger - West Virginia 133 James Joplin - Lander 141 Jameson Garcia - Harvard 149 Dylan D'Emilio - Ohio State 157 Isaiah Hendrix - Central Baptist 165 Jagger Condomitti - Nebraska 174 Harrison Smith - Va Tech 184 Sincere-Hall Osbourne - Central Methodist 197 Austin Starr - The Ohio University 285 Austin Chapman - Clarion I tried to do a @Jimmy Cinnabon one but all I could find was Dylan Croisant. Oh well.
  7. That you are not on the forums all the time is cause for celebration rather than need for apology. Thank you for the response. As always, you are a class act. Thanks for doing the rankings that we all endlessly debate. Now that I think about it, maybe slip a crazy one in there every now and again so that we have something to go nuts about. You know, liven things up a bit around here.
  8. It is pretty wild that no Cornell heavy has ever AA'd. Your multi-time qualifiers are: Jeramy Sweany 2016 (0-2), 2018 (2-2), 2019 (0-2) Zach Hammond 2007 (0-2), 2009 (1-2) Lewis Fernandes 2022 (3-2), 2024 (1-2) So, it has to be Fernandes with 4 total victories and a blood round finish.
  9. What exactly is "this"? Brandon Johnson pointing out that the federal government failed to do its job during the Obama, Trump, and Biden administration? Or the reporter pointing it out?
  10. Circling back on this because I found the 2025 coaches voting roster. Sixteen coaches rank each weight, two from each conference. The high and low ranks are thrown out. For the remaining fourteen ranks points are assigned: 33 for 1st, 32 for 2nd, ..... 1 for 33rd. The max points is therefore 462 (14x33) For Starocci to finish with 460 points that means that among the 14 rankings he lost two points relative to the max. So either one of the fourteen had him third and the low that got thrown out had him third or lower. OR Two of the fourteen had him second and the low that got thrown out had him second or lower. So which two coaches had him third or lower? Or which three coaches had him second or lower? ACC Chris Ayres 184 ACC Keith Gavin 184 B1G Sean Bormet 184 B1G Tom Ryan 184 Big12 Doug Schwab 184 Big12 Kevin Dresser 184 EIWA Matt Azevedo 184 EIWA Kenny Monday 184 Ivy Joseph Dubuque 184 Ivy Jordan Leen 184 MAC Donnie Vinson 184 MAC Ben Bennett 184 Pac-12 Neil Erisman 184 Pac-12 Jon Sioredas 184 Southern Nate Carr Jr. 184 Southern Mark Cody 184
  11. I chuckled that after all that you still picked one of the three.
  12. To wrestle tomorrow at 174 he would have had to weigh no more than 175.8 on Sunday when he wrestled 184. I have not been able to find out what he weighed.
  13. I could go for a nosh
  14. No it is not germane, as you yourself stated at the end of your post. And because it is not germane it smacks of political opportunism. He used other people's pain to try to score political points. Truly disgusting.
  15. That is a strong first post. Welcome to the board.
  16. So far the only thing Trump has done with immediacy is disgusting. He is trying to score political points from this tragedy. It would be one thing if he had any real reason to believe DEI initiatives were somehow resoponsible. But he does not. Instead he went with his most base instinct. Demonize The Other.
  17. Maybe @ionel can help. He seems tight with the overlords.
  18. That would be interesting. Too bad I am pat the 15 minute window to edit.
  19. There are many great ones to choose from, but which one has you most interested?
  20. Since we appear to have hit a wall, I will post the "final" results. Some Accounting Turns out I am a bad accountant. I miscounted. There are only 49 entries. But I will let you keep the cash prize @Ragu for the 50th entry. Here is what I have for each of the 49 entries. If anyone feels their entry is in error, please let me know. There are 40 Intermat entries (an all time high), and 6 HVI and 1 HR (both all time lows), to go along with one from Twitter, and Willie's prediction. Wisdom Of The Crowds If you believe in that sort of stuff, the final score prediction is...... Spread 'Em On HVI I saw someone say they saw a betting line of Iowa +21.5. With our WOTC Predicted spread of 17.5, maybe it is time to take Iowa and the points (not gambling advice). The distribution of differences looks like this: Who You Calling a Lier? Nobody. I said outlier. Settle down. As you can see there are a few outliers in the stack. @Mr. PeanutButter wins the Hawkeyed Cockeyed Optimist Award for greatest Iowa fan. But he is a singular bird of that feather. I am frankly shocked and disappointed at the practicality of the rest of Hawkeye nation. Two thirds of PBJ sees Iowa taking 6 of 10. Nobody else could talk themselves into even 5 wins for Brands' Boys. For goodness sake, even the greatest four three time champ in Hawk History (@Spencerlee) has the Nittany Lyings Lions winning by 14. For shame. On the flip side, who woulda thunk it? We have a Wolverine in Lions' clothing. At 37-0, @nhs67 exposes the lie. He can claim to be a Michigan fan all he wants. We know better. Only baccafarmer (HVI, no duh), Kale_yeah (guess where), @Pish (who hides as psih69 on HVI), and your faithful author could also see PSU hitting the triple decade. What Abouts The Bouts? But enough about us. What about the wrestlers? Glad you asked. Kerkvliet, Haines, and Bartlett are the only unanimous choices. Iowa is favored in 3 matches with Ayala the biggest favorite, followed by Buchanon and Teemer. Teemer v Kasak appears to be the most interesting match of the night at a near 50/50 split. But I feel like Buchanon v Barr should be given the 22 points in 1:19 onslaught we witnessed last week. But come on. Don't be stupid. It has to be the match that will end with a beheading, right? Two bold statements have been made. The first one turned out to be silly. But now we get a chance to see one of them actually backed up. Or sorta backed up. I do not expect an actual beheading. He Shoots. He Scores. From a scoring perspective things move around a bit. While Mikey Caliendo got one vote of confidence (we see you @RawDog) the expectation is that Mesenbrink will do more damage than a Lion in an aviary. And in a shocker, Beau "One Shot, Everyone Knows The Rules" Bartlett is the collective second favorite to take a second shot. Or maybe you guys just like him for the back points (aka near pinfall points)? At the other end of the spectrum is the one, if we are really being honest, we are tuning in to see. Two Brands. Two Team Point Deductions. Too bad Vegas doesn't offer a prop bet. I have told the wife every night this week what I am planning to do on Friday night. Come join me. I think I will crack open some spirits for the big event. But if clean living is your thing, then God Bless.
