  1. I didn't see it mentioned in this thread, but did see it in the Intermat preview article, that Seth Nevills landed at Maryland.
  2. I think the plan will be to qualify via the US Open. That is what they did in the last Olympic cycle with guys like Nick Lee, Vincenzo Joseph, and maybe others. From Casey Cunnigham's season opening newsletter: "This first semester we do not compete as much as in past years because the US Open, which is an Olympic Trials Qualifier, is in December and we want to give our guys that want to compete the opportunity to do that."
  3. Every day is speedo day. At least we practiced in them twice a day. You modest wrestlers are always wearing garbage bags, sweat pants, and hoodies. What are you hiding?
  4. I just assumed you had a boat in Albania.
  5. Per The Athletic: The NCAA Division I Council Coordination Committee tabled a decision Wednesday to reinstate suspended athletes who engaged in sports wagering. Here’s what you need to know: The committee delayed its vote on proposals for changes to the reinstatement guidelines for two weeks at the request of the Conference Commissioners Association Executive Committee. Jon Steinbrecher, chair of the coordination committee and commissioner at the Mid-American Conference, said in a statement that the CCA executive committee sought more time for “membership feedback on the proposed adjustment.” “The council agreed with commissioners earlier this month that the penalties for wagering violations in limited circumstances should be adjusted and the respective committees moved quickly to recommend possible changes,” Steinbrecher added.
  6. I think Brooks would be better off not wrestling. Jimmy makes it clear he cannot compete.
  7. I am going to miss this thread. But I am looking forward to the sequel in a few months.
  8. My caucus and I are...oops, I have said too much.
  9. Just landed in DC. The old gentleman in the seat next to me asked me if I was going to get things straightened out, because the country needs us. I was left wondering how he knew about this thread.
  10. Oh that he or Gable Steveson were college wrestlers. Alas they are not.
  11. Careful. People might start calling you title 8.
  12. You have read too many of that moron's posts. Some think? Now your are emulating the worst poster this site has ever had. Insurrection? You know that word has a very specific meaning, right?
  13. Again, what would the charges be?
  14. McCarthy. A Speaker from the minority aint ever gonna happen with this Republican party (or probably any party, just about any time).
  15. They are billing a lot. Not sure they are getting paid well. That will be the follow on lawsuit.
  16. Vito Arujau probably has the easiest? Mostly due to himself. He looked head and shoulders above the competition last year. Keegan O'Toole probably has the toughest. Not that the whole road itself is hard, just that last mile. The one with the David Carr adopt-a-highway sign. Carter Starocci seems a pretty safe bet too. Unless...see KOT. Aaron Brooks moves up a weight, but I just don't see him being challenged very much at the tournament. Sure he is prone to lose the odd dual. But, that is just it, odd.
  17. I have only ever seen it in quotes
  18. Looks like he may need help from Democrats. After Emmer won the nomination 117 - 97 over Johnson the caucus held a roll call vote on Emmer and more than 20 members said they would not vote for him on the floor. Could be posturing. Could be a negotiating tactic. Could be real.
  19. I suspect that is the last thing he will want to do.
  20. And Emmer is the third nominee. Not sure if they will have the full House vote today.
  21. It all depends on their capacity for embarrassment.
  22. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that you should have capitalized the c in cut.
  23. Trump's legal team filed new arguments last night in the Washington federal election obstruction case. Presidential Immunity - conduct fell within "outer perimeter" of presidential duties. Selective Prosecution - politically motivated selective and vindictive. First Amendment - attempt to criminalize core political speech and advocacy Impeachment Acquittal - case violates separation of powers and double jeopardy. Due Process - could not be on notice that his conduct was potentially criminal because people challenge election results all the time. Invalid Conspiracy - defining what he did as deceit or trickery would criminalize vast swaths of citizenry. Obstruction Law -urging government officials to take certain actions didn't obstruct or impede their duties. Civil Rights - exercising his own right to contest does not violate others' rights.
  24. I don't doubt it. I feel like that is a hollow threat, though. I just can't see a former president and current candidate being put in jail for contempt. That is more my belief in legal realism than any strict reading of the law.
