  2. I can see this oddly working out for him. He’s stubborn as an ox and has a gorilla grip. Free and folkstyle might just have been too gentle for him.

  3. Zain squeaks it out for several reasons that are aren’t captured in the data. I heavily weigh wrestling as a true freshman. Two of his three losses were to the defending 2x national champ, who would go on to win 4 and become an all time great. Taylor is similar in this aspect. Also, a 94 match win streak is just incredible.

  4. I don’t know for sure but I’m afraid the women are being used as pawns for political theater. IMO, if I was in their shoes I would rather beat the trans player than forfeit. Especially since she doesn’t even seem to be all that good.

  5. I created this graphic aboutr a year ago, but figured it was time to up date it for the presumption that Gable Steveson would become a three timer. Since I used wrestlestat data for things like the average time for a techfall or pinfall and the rank of defeated wrestlers, I limited the analysis to 2014 - present. With the exception of Alex Dieringer, whose career began in 2013. For him I dug around to get win and bonus totals, but used the 2014 - 2016 wrestlestat data for time and rank. So, perhaps those are a little better than they should be. For Steveson I assumed he would run the table, but maintain his historic bonus rates and finish with 23.5 NCAA points (he had 24.5 and 22.5 in his two title years). Reducing that number salad to rankings per category we can get a better idea of relative career ranks. Using these metrics Steveson ranks third best, behind Jason Nolf and Bo Nickal, but just ahead of Zain Retherford. Of course this ignores gold medals won while still having college eligibility remaining. Reasonable minds might not want to do that.

  6. He needs a shallower talent pool, and he also needs wrestling. I wish more senior free guys had such clarity.

  7. McEnelly vs Berge alone is worth close to that. Then Flynn vs Jordan, Glazier vs Salazar, and some other matches that could be close. Plus they are regional rivals. Should be a great dual

  11. The key word is "afraid" ...which I didn't hear. I heard he doesn't wrestle him and then he has wrestled him and it is like wrestling a refrigerator. And if you read my comment in context you will notice that it's a sarcastic and satirical response to a statement that is about someone's knowledge of the Oklahoma State practice room.

  14. Really, really good post. Take the time to read the last couple sentences that were in normal text, but I underlined and painted yellow. Caveira, this is pointed directly at you. Although you aren't alone. Plenty of questionable posters here are making a habit of blaming US mainstream media as being a problem... when they really aren't a problem at all. Internet dopes like you are the real problem. Weirdo, nutty facebook and X news isn't the solution to anything unless you just want more crazy. US main stream media has always and still provides best the information in the world. Nobody does it better. (Fox News has become a pimple on the mostly clear face - but they have a tendency to veer back on focus. Not all bad.)

  16. Any shift, either way, for any state does mean something. But shifts in each state mean something different, for each state. All states aren't the same Your claim that MSM is full of crap is absolutely true - as long as you mean Fox News. Those guys are total garbage. The rest of MSM are OK most of the time. But Fox News sux balls always.

  17. This really isn't that deep. You asked, Can you tell us which guys are afraid and won't wrestle everyone in the room, and I relayed what Taylor had said about Kerk in the past. And I never said they needed each other as a workout partner, but it's really not that rare for a guy who's in the 200-210 range to workout with a HWT, especially a lighter one. And I'm not "taking" either one. I'm just...passing along what Taylor said.

  18. Agreed. On the flipside, if Steveson wins this year, as I have assumed, he will do it in his seventh year out of high school where Nolf and Nickal did it in their fifth year out of high school. At this level it is safe to assume that the athletic peak occurs later. So do you penalize Steveson for winning at an older age?

  19. Internationally...I guess I'd say '84 is probably the best weight for him. 86KG is ~189...so 197 is between 86 and 97. 92KG is closest to 197, but I am guessing that Sinclair is looking at the Olympic weights(I'd guess the same of Barr, Ryder, Arnold, Ferrari...anyone on that level). Just given his size as it stands today, him cutting to 74KG or ~163 is probably what a lot of guys with Olympic aspirations would do, but he's shown repeatedly, he's not going to make the sport miserable and cut a lot of weight(it's actually a great trend in the sport and I think makes for a better product and better Wrestlers in the long run). That may change as he climbs levels and it's not so easy for him, but I would guess 184, and he wrestles 86KG down the road.

  20. When a wrestler takes a redshirt is a factor. Gable’s losses were as a true freshman having not taken a redshirt. Nolf and Nickal had redshirt true freshman losses that are not part of this data.

  21. Great job everyone. It was a pretty chill couple of days. That will 100% be short lived. Including myself, who will 100% go overboard at some point. We all have our moments. Just remember we're all good people on here. That care about our country and culture. Case in point - @VakAttack you're my dude. I know i go hard on you sometimes. We are diametrically opposed on most political issues. But I'd do anything for ya.
