  3. @TNwrestling well, it was before he confirmed it. @juniorvarsity I've not heard anything, I think many folks are just thrilled he is even back on the mats competing at this level.

  5. My group has been going since mid 90's, tickets were $75 or less. I then looked into suites and have been going that route since early 2000's. I believe our first suite was around $2400-$2500 for 16 tickets. Am on a list for Philly for a suite, got a call a couple months ago, salesman wanted $125,000 for 16 tickets, NCAA's, 3-Flyers games, 3-76's games and a concert. I said no I just want the wrestling tournament. Salesman calls back a month ago and is asking $65,000 for 16 tickets for just the wrestling tournament. I said part of my group got their 2025 suite booked last year at the 2024 NCAA meet for $40,000, he said they had limited number they could get rid of at last years event for promotion. Also, he didn't think price would go lower than the $60,000 ish amount. My group is going to Big 10's this year.

  9. to piss off the Minny staff... more likely they just asked the Ghadiali and he didn't feel like sitting around getting nervous for 2 hours, or made that call themselves. Makes sense really.

  18. 20-20 hindsight, maybe Askren wouldn't have been as polished in presenting the product, but UW would be a much stronger program had they hired him the last go round.

  19. Turns out Kasak. He beat Facundo 5-2 at the Black Knight Invitational. The other weight of interest to PSU wrestle offs in that tournament was 197 where Josh Barr beat Connor Mirasola 11-0 and then beat Lucas Cochran 10-1.

  20. The Buckeyes have lost 3 starters (Lineman) to season ending injuries so far this season. They seem to be adapting pretty well. Now for a little redemption against the team up North. They have lost 3 in a row to them. The records never seem to matter when it comes to this rivalry game.

  26. I can only express my personal opinion. I would love to see Masoumi take over the spot, but so far Zare has completely dominated him, and none of their matches have been close. Masoumi is probably top 4 in the world, but there appears to be a big gap between him and Zare at the moment. Masoumi is still very young and I am hoping that he will continue to improve.

  28. Sunday's match with OK State vs Arizona St is at 1:00 central. Last night's match with Wy started at 7:00 and the total attendance was 6,784, the crowd was electric! The crowd made the match feel like it used to when Iowa was in town, crowd was totally energetic even though it was several thousand people shy of a full house. But that probably because they wanted to see the new Sheriff in town DT. I'm looking forward to going back there again tomorrow for the AZ St match.

  29. This series has not failed to deliver the last several years. Always something crazy unexpected happens - didn't foresee Parco winning by not scoring, Teemer injury defaulting, or Buchanan majoring Christmas Carol

  32. Hughes didn't make the wrestle off but did win MSU open. Witcraft wrestled against Utah V and Hughes against wOSU. I'd expect Hughes on Sun against ASU. I think they are sharing start till CKLV.

  33. Ohio guy here...take it with a grain of salt but here are the popular opinions and rumors in Ohio.... Brandon Cannon will be competing to take Paddy's spot. Rumor has it Shumate is dropping to 184 for the starting spot. Not sure the rules but Rogotzke has a RS to use and he should as the consensus is that Ryan going all in for next year. Welsh is already stated he is RS this year.

  34. Are they all boring. Most of them? When i was getting every ppv (i stopped) the wrestlers were super entertaining. Watching clips of bo standing around and then bragging how dominant he was…… Is that normal? Jon jones doesn’t get accused of being boring. Matt Hughes wasn’t boring. Couture wasn’t boring. Lesnar. Ortiz (I did not like him though) not boring. There are many others who weren’t boring.

  39. FYI: growing up we had mail and newspaper delivery Mon-Sat. Sunday picked up the paper after church post office in town. The comics were in color on Sunday. There were 4 of us in the back seat of that Ford Galaxy fighting to be first, there were not 4 sections only 2 (note: sometimes the fight resulted in 4 sections) However plenty of time for all to read on that 14 mile drive home. Now can you imagine that 14 mile drive if the guy writing the 'funnies' had decided to sleep in till Monday? Once is maybe forgivable but twice!

  40. Looking at wrestlestat's tournament rankings, Lehigh would outscore the rest of the EIWA by a lot. (and Cornell would outscore Lehigh, the rest of the EIWA, and the Ivy League, combined)

  42. Wrong! A lot of companies run in the negative in terms of profit from just selling the insurance. They make money off of the investments of the premiums...hoping the percent increase in the markets they invest is greater than the losses they incur from claims.
