Well—I’m not a Northwestern guy and don't profess know a ton about the program--but I will get to know them and I am intrigued how coaches outside the blue chip programs (PSU, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio St., etc) adjust to the changing college wrestling landscape. Let me be clear—I don’t blame this Johnson kid at all. Nor do I blame the three transfers for their decisions. I totally understand their decisions. All I am saying is that it isn’t Storniolo’s fault that there was widespread hazing in the football program—that Fitzgerald was fired for it and Storniolo loses his prize dual sport recruit. And it comes on the heels of the transfer debacle, making it another big blow to a team that carries a small roster. And so, by all accounts, I have heard the three transfers are leaving NW on good terms and thankful for what the program did for them. They just got offered a bag of money from the new NIL rules that may be crippling to a program like NW. Again—I do not blame these kids at all. But Storniolo coached those three kids to be AAs. I am sure he put his heart into getting them there and on the podium--which ironically is what got them the money and caused them to leave. When they left in like April (?) he seemed to be left high and dry. It has to be next to impossible to find transfers or 2023 recruits that can meet the rigorous NW academic standards and be capable of credibly filling AA shoes at that late date. Again--circumstances beyond his control. So his program is now faced with taking a public beating in the brutal Big 10. A program that has actually done very well under his watch for the last 5 years or so. And it is not because he hasn’t done his job well or he has mistreated kids, or allowed anything bad to go on in his program (at least not to my knowledge). Seems like a good coach that is a bit of a victim of circumstances here. His program was crippled through no fault of his own. So yeah, I will say he didn't deserve this. I guess that’s my view.3 points

Trump Invited Bo Nickal to golf with him last week at the Bedminster National GC in New Jersey. Bo said he had an amazing time and Trump was down to earth and an amazing golfer. Bo said Trump was outdriving the 3 athletes on every hole and making his chips and putts consistantly. In Bo's words "Trump was a total G" In other news Biden fell asleep during another interview fell up some stairs, shit himself and mistook Ukrain for Iraq. .2 points

My understanding was that it was going to the electric chair. In all seriousness, FloWrestling is shutting down Arena and only supporting the TrackWrestling software.2 points

People who don’t know anything about anything like to portray Trump as some egotistical, narcissistic, pathological, psychopath, but people who have actually spent a little time with him, if honest, remark on his genuine, funny, optimistic attitude while being the most generous of hosts.1 point

I’m all for jokes and games, and I really feel I shouldn’t feel the need to do this, but since you can’t pick up on a very serious tone that I am not joking, here it is: For the past year my wife has been battling a very rare, very aggressive form of cancer. With that comes a very aggressive treatment plan. Seven surgeries, including one to take a footballs worth of skin off her back to cover the crater in her arm where they cut out the tumor, 11 sessions of radiation, and now in month six of chemo, the first four months weekly, until it broke her down so bad she had nothing left, and they switched it to bi-weekly. She has had to take on this fight while we have dragged our four teenagers through six different rental homes, because in the middle of this fight, a cat 5 hurricane dropped on our heads and we’ve been trying to get our home put back together since September. That’s included the aggravation of two lawsuits fighting with our insurance, and depleting our funds to rebuild our house until we can get that suit settled. I joined here a few months ago for an escape , yeah a shit talking get away from the way I have to be in the real world and cut loose escape. And I know I’ve thrown my share of shit on here. But I also know that there’s a time to understand when something is off the table, and when someone makes a very sincere statement about leaving their family out, you do it. You don’t have to understand why, you just respect the limits. Have a nice day.1 point

Natto posts the top 3 divisions: Makushita, Juryo and Makuuchi...with Makuuchi being the top. Hop on the Sumo train, Smalls! As mentioned, he gets shut down pretty regularly, so you just need to search for NattoSumo: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSOhpHpQKHzSSPIYC4fIh5Q1 point

Didn't he try to kill his wife or something? Also, did Chittum's daddy sign off on it? Heard he was pissed that Swiderski was pushing him up to 165. Also heard Swiderski told Daddy Chittum to pound sand and to go chop some wood.1 point

Yeah, I only recently started to listen to the Fridman podcast, but you’re definitely right about his impressive catalog. I see he has a new one with Yuval Noah Harari, whose books are amazing. I’m glad Spotify went all in on podcasts, though, it’s drastically cut down on my Audible book listening. I make a concerted effort to seek out different points of view and not live in an echo chamber like so many people do by only watching/reading Fox or MSNBC. I see the Facebook/ Twitter algorithms that feed people the “news” and opinions that they agree with as the single greatest reason for the divide in our country. I’ll listen to Jordan Peterson then Sam Harris, and I can see where they’re both coming from with their diametrically opposed but equally intelligent views. There are too many good podcasts to be able keep up with them all (literally not enough time in the day, even if you listen 24/7/365), so I end up choosing them based on the guests (ie, I skip over most comics and mma guys on JRE… but loved the Jelly Roll interview) or subject matter.1 point

Again you’re not very good at this. Let me see if I can help you. I didn’t say anything relating to whose problem it is, I said you’re not very good at this. Why? Well you come into a thread discussing MTG with your first whatabout….schools. That wasn’t getting the play you wanted so you went to another unrelated whatabout….immigrants in Chicago. That got about as much play as the thread you put it in originally, so you went to another what about….. immigrants in New York, stating ‘this is you’, even though the topic was MTG and porn. So I guess the only question I have is…..which of these unrelated topic problems are you referring to that I don’t care about??1 point

Dems “uh oh, we did something bad. What if we get caught?” Also Dems “we’ll blame it on Republicans first and unleash the media on it. It’ll take years and a couple elections to catch up to us.”0 points

It couldn't possibly have been that you had a god awful candidate . It couldn't possibly have be that the conservatives were not giving the pollsters accurate data. The pollsters fell for it so did Hillary and her election team. Watching the media slowly melt down on election night was priceless.0 points
