C'mon jimminy... Dez isn't going to get a sniff @125 again.

That subway car already left the station forEVAH! 😏

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It's a shame because the best version of Desmond that could contend at 141 - is not the same version that was able to wrestle matches at 125 (extremely effetively, nonetheless...) during the same season.  This would be like when Bartlett wrestled up at 149 that one season

He’s winning matches up there at 141. They’re not pulling his shirt. But man is he undersized every match up there. Just overall frame (core/hips/thighs/ass, height, etc) everyone he’s wrestled up there is a lot bigger than him. Not sure what his future is…back to 125 or down to 133? Stay at 141 going forward and be undersized even when the body weight catches up. 🤷‍♂️ Embarrassment of riches at a lot of weights so it’ll get figured out.

No, he is beating guys, but not top 10 guys. He needs a year.  Davis has a good shot at being an AA again this year.

I do as well. Cael will help him disperse his energy level over 3 periods vs blowing his wad in the first 2.

Good analogy.  It may be even a bigger sacrifice for Desmond than Bartlett.

Next year, I mean, about Blaze.

I don’t know. He could, he has a RS. Slot Ono in at 133, 141 is Davis, Desmond, Nagao?, someone else?? PSU has an embarrassment of riches in several weight class ranges and can play around, and to try to maximize eligibility may have to play around and RS kids you never thought would be RSed. And next years team is likely lights out again, so 1 weight isn’t gonna likely matter to winning again in March 2027.

I think next season you have Lilledahl/Desmond man 125/133.

Until Ono takes the mat, I won't believe he will go, regardless of weight.

Blaze at 141.

Davis at 149 (hahaha).

Davis beats out SVN, eh?

I’ve seen enough. He’s better than Davis even if he’s a 125 pounder wrestling 141.

I do not think a SV win over Ragusin at this juncture makes me any more confident he AA's even if he does its probably in that 6-8 range at best which they do not need this year and is probably not worth pulling his shirt. Now there is an argument that he is going to lose a year next year anyhow so just let him go which I am on board with however I am not entirely confident he is better than Davis right now.

I assume PSU's lineup will work itself out in the offseason when Braeden Davis severely injures himself microwaving a dozen eggs, or gets into a freak accident with a Roomba or something equally goofy and self-inflicted.

Isn't SVN a Senior?

Edit: Nvm.  I think he'll get another year for two seasons ago.  Once granted, he'll have another year.

That’s hysterical. Mostly because it’s true. Any of those things could happen. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I don’t know what he’s listed as, but I never heard any talk of him NOT being back next year, so it kinda feels like it’s already a done deal??
When talking lineups this year to next all you’ve heard about all year is only Haines graduates.

SVN injury year if I remember kinda happened right after the NWCA All-Star thing. He might’ve had a tournament before that, so like 2 events - 1 unofficial and maybe 3-4 matches again 1 unofficial and he was out for the year with I believe a knee injury requiring surgery.
PSUs line up next year should be every bit as good, maybe better than this years.

While all you've said is more or less taken as par for the course, the guys can't technically be granted their medical redshirt(s) until they have actually exhausted their eligibility.

Even so, we know they will get it.  I am not sure why I thought he wouldn't be back.

If Haines is the only one they lose I don’t see how there’s any way they aren’t better next year…

Even though Haines is the only one graduating, there is a decent chance that they have a different starter at six weights - 125, 133, 141, 157, 165, and 174.

Hell, I wouldn't put 184/197 out of the question either with Mirasola waiting in the wings.

He won the all star match and journeyman classic he was 3-0 officially. He 100 percent will get a medical for that year.

With his RS being pulled, pretty sure Davis is the guy for the post-season. However, Desmond does have one more RS date left on his FR campaign. Be interesting to see if PSU uses that date this Friday against Mendes.
