I think Mo is somewhat hurt and somewhat parentally engaged and Tom has a business to run and his most important match of the year and can't get an answer or an audience from a 20something young man after efforts have been made.  And he has an obligation to: media, the guy replacing or not replacing him, the team and the school to tell people who is wrestling. I'm not sure if NIL obligations are in place that require participation and used as leverage or if it's just I need to know the reality and you're not talking to me.

Stop making so much sense.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

Once again did the athletic trainer clear him or not? My son was chomping at the bit to wrestle and couldn't get cleared. Sounds like stingers to me which can freaking hurt. But again two months left of your career and PSU coming up. I am siding with Brands until I know more details.

Or, or, simply or he is scared of Barr and the biggest stage in all of wrestling? PSU vs Iowa. I have known kids to avoid.

Or a little bit of that and some other things?

Is there any chance he was trying to renegotiate his NIL bc he exceeded expectations and that backfired?

In his defense he has exceeded expectations! Kimbo Slice was never supposed to get a major fight but did!

Yes, a smart man might say "I'm doing a great job, can I get a raise?" And that might not go over very well if he was also not practicing or just based on the audience he was speaking with.

I like Tom and Terry, but I would imagine that if Mo wanted more money and wasn't practicing, that would drive them crazy.  Maybe they might even feel as if he were going on strike?

"superstar?"

What else about that post is exaggeration or fabrication?

He was 72-1 and 3x champ his first 3 years at Wartburg, 6-1 and ranked 4th in the country his first year D1, won pan Ams in 24 , made the U23 team this year.. Not a stretch for some to view him as a superstar

Actually, he is not a superstar because he did not make the U23 team this year and lost to an unranked wrestler, perhaps a backup in the trials.  Nice try though.

I wanted him to do well, and it is a shame that this didn't work out. but not a superstar.  There are a few "superstars" in college right now, but he is not one of them. (Haines, Duke, Forrest have strong arguments)

sounds like my biased thinking has it's faults. If rumors are true   Now seems like a bad decision,  financially forced. and competitively pressured

He made last years u23 team my bad, nice try though? I was off by a year. how many u23 teams you made? So Forrest who has one college match against an unranked kid is a “superstar” and not the 3x D3 National champ with 2 career loses who switched over D1 pretty seamlessly and also has made a world team. Are you the intermatwrestle official kingmaker in naming superstars? Some people may be think a 4x AA is a superstar it’s an opinion

Yes, he made it in 24.  He did quite a bit worse this past year.  So we have ten superstars every year from the U23 team every year?  Garavous Kouekabakilaho is a superstar?  Come on, son!

Apparently you are the superstar kingmaker?  In addition to being a walking clown emoji...

Mo was a nice little wrestler.  I was happy to see him do well.  I wish him luck in his future.

probably most of it is a lie.

correct. It's funny to see people upset at the Brands and automatically taking the side of Endene.

If this is just related to his injury, do people honestly think the University of Iowa doesn't have a trainer or medical team that Brands is getting constant updates from about Endene. "Hey trainer/doc, what's up with Endene? How serious is this? Do we need to shut him down for the year and apply for a medical redshirt, or is this more of a comfort thing?" And when the trainer/doc tells Brands it's a comfort thing, yes, they SHOULD be upset he's not practicing, even a modified practice, or competing.

These are not just "student-athletes" anymore. They are being paid 6 or sometimes 7 figures to compete & win. You don't get to collect a free check and hang out...unless you're a "learing center" in Minneapolis.

The pay check is for monetizing the value of their name image and likeness.  You know car, appliance etc commercials or maybe even a national Dr Pepper commercial if their image has national value.  You make it sound like they are getting paid to play and the coach is holding the purse.  🙄

You're more naive than I thought if you believe NIL is actually monetizing the value of their name, image, and likeness. It's payouts by wealthy donors to ensure that said athlete comes to your school and helps your team win. If they don't have any intent on doing that, they don't get paid.

This is what most of us said it would be when first announced and no way the NCAA could control it.  Note the sarcasm 🙄

NIL's cannot be incentive based.  And before you respond just remember Endene could score a massive settlement in court if an NIL was broken due to that one fact.  Rev Share that are allocated funds through the school can and most likely do have an incentive base structure.  I don't remember how Iowa wrestling is structured.

But if Mo just wanted to go home and change diapers he probably won't sue ... don't ya think.  😉
