I think it could be a decent match-up for a couple of reasons. 1. Mendez has athleticism that is probably worse but close to RBY 2. Mendez opens up more than RBY in terms of attempting to create offense 3. First time facing each other. Mendez will have been preparing for this match all year. RBY probably never even considered the existence of Mendez until the match was approaching. 4. Dual is in Columbus where they may receive some small benefit of the doubt from the ref if RBY tries for any stalling tactics and fans get wild. 5. Mendez has a very wide variety of offensive attacks and doesn't need to operate from one position or cheese a particular set of moves. He is beatable in a match by any guy but he is not solvable like DeSanto.
