For entry fees? How much money could the possibly miss out on switching from an open go an invitational?

With 5 for 5 could we see the end of the open? The main purpose of opens is to allow unattached wrestlers some experience. With the addition of 5 dates for red shirts we already saw this purpose diminished. Now without dates to protect and no reason to wrestle unattached will we be seeing an increase of invitationals and decrease in the college open?

It will never happen but id love it if every d1 team got an entry per weight to nationals and it was single elimination until the round of 32.

I responded to your post yes, but with basically 4 points of contention. D1 has never caught anyone for PEDS, zahid was suspended by ASU but the test was administered by UWW in Italy and was not for PEDs, that we had a recent 4 timer test positive for PEDs outside the NCAA almost immediately after his NCAA career, and that most wrestlers/fans would rather this Pandoras box remain shut. You then responded to my post arguing the Zahid incident ( with absolutely no evidence to your point) and addressed litterally nothing else. You're like talking to brick wall. You've argued using vibes and completely avoided any kind of conversation on the topic. Possibly because you enjoy bickering but likely because you have no point to make against anything ive said.

The NCAA didnt honor it. ASU did which is why you thought the administered the test. Likely because he was representing sunkist and wrestling in their room. Never happened. He popped for cocaine(allegedly, i think the term used was party drug) in a UWW drug test. It had nothing to do with the school or the NCAA and also wasnt PEDs. But thats kind of my point the NCAA has NEVER caught a d1 wrestler for PEDs and I would hope none of us are stupid enough to think no one in d1 wrestling is using. I mean we have a recent 4 timer caught by UWW and suspended for something worse than what Zahid got caught for and we just pretend a)it was an accident b) it never happened or c) even if it did happen he was clean for all 4 titles... This is a Pandora's box we as fans just dont want opened and I tend to feel that way as well. The sport feels pure but its likely not true and thats a matter of fairness.

I almost made a post earlier about how some historic matches that have a very cool story are just plain boring. And I was going to give this as an example and Kurt Angles gold medal win. I will rewatch it because its been years but I remember it being very boring and then Rulon wins because Karelins grip breaks in OT. So anticlimactic especially for such a special moment. Ive been busy cutting fire wood and doing other chores so im behind but as I watch the suggested matches I will try to say something about them.

Thats all fine and good to me. If he can explain what he thinks it showcases I personally will watch it with an open mind, I cant speak for anyone else.

Its what id like to think. He likes Greco. Hes always taking heat for his takes. But if he lists awesome matches what can anyone say?

That was not the intent and since I said that we have had a few more suggestions. Im slowly watching them. The point of the thread was the opposite of a gotcha. People keep dissing greco I thought maybe we could get some knowledgeable greco heads to give us something to praise.

I mean... id certainly take it at this point. So far we have two matches. And admittedly ive watched one. Ill watch the other in a bit. I dont want to start throwing stones and I certainly dont have the knowledge to list the matches myself but if we cant get a few matches mentioned thats quite the indictment on Greco. Id think @LJB would appreciate a different avenue to defend Greco.

Was surprisingly long lol. But it was good. Hard fought, closely contested blood and guts match. Why hasn't @LJB chimed in? Do you have any other suggestions to watch?
