I don't think even the most hardcore international fans have any idea who that dude is.

He was not a player at 97kg he was 0-3 last year outside of the African games, and to me he just looked like a 97kg that did not diet. I assume they both struggled finding a good opponent for Wyatt and simultaneously his coaches probably did not want anything that would derail his confidence.

you can't make a statement like that without knowing how much they are being paid.

Apparently you think they just fetch for our amusement.

I don't think they fetch for our entertainment. I would think, however, that wrestlers would want to.. idk.. wrestle? What are guys that didn't make the team doing from July until the following April?

Exactly what I was referring to!  One time at MAWAs, I was mentioning a co-worker of mine to an acquaintance who was also wrestling at MAWAs.  My co-worker was a lacrosse D1 all-America and may now be in the lax HoF.  Regardless of how he is remembered 30 years later, he was considered a transcendant passer at the time.  I mentioned that he was a pro lax player.  My fellow competitor ridiculed him saying "Pro? Those guys get paid like $250 a game!"

At that point I reminded him that we were paying $20 or $30 or whatever the entrance fee was at MAWAs that day.

That Ortiz/Sonnen thing was painful to watch.

I like the idea pulling in the MMA stars to help cross-sell with that fan base, but I don't think there's anyone out there that wants to see Sonnen and Ortiz on the mat again.  Even putting Ortiz on the mic seems like a mistake, as it makes the whole event look unserious -- especially to MMA fans, who know Ortiz was put to pasture by the UFC over a decade ago.

I enjoyed the first event.

I looked around at the rest of what my fox offering included, and there wasn't really anything there for me.
So I unsubscribed to the annual plan and will resubscribe on a monthly plan whenever the events are announced.  If the events were already laid out on a monthly basis for the next year, I would just keep the annual plan, but it's not clear to me how often they will compete.
