Echoing this. Their bloodround was brutal to watch. I think it was just bad luck and the chips didnt fall in their direction. I expect Joy to be in the mix again..maybe not as high as #2 but AA at worst....does Cornella have another year (or two)? What does their expected lineup look like?

It seems like Lee's MO now is to score a bunch in the first 30 seconds and then if he doesn't end it early, content to hang on for the rest of the match and it has recenty been coming back to bite him. Whatever, he's an olympic silver medalist so he knows a lot more than any of us do, but what I can't stand is this new "attitude" after his matches and during interviews, where he is all pissed off and annoyed saying he needs to score more and stop coasting....bud, its been the same thing for a couple years now. If you know the problem, let's go and fix it....I think the youths say, "don't talk about it, be about it" (some tongue in cheek in this post)

A little bit younger, expecting my first child end of May. But I agree with what you posted. As parents I feel like part of the job is to protect and prepare. Prepare our kids that failure/adversity is something that they will experience at some point in their lives, and they have to know how to respond to that in a healthy way. I mean thats really one of the main points of sports isn't it? To teach those life skills in a safe environment (safe meaning losing a wrestling match or not accomplishing your goals will not be a life threatening situation). I remember listening to Ben Askren discuss this topic and it made a lot of sense to me. You learn these skills early in life so that when things get real (job, family, kids etc.) and times get tough...you know how to handle it and you dont just quit and run away.

The part beginning at 8:30 really hit home for me....Coaching HS I have found recently so many of our kids are unable to accept criticism even if it is delivered in the kindest way possible. They immediately look to quit or run away from the hard conversation and it can be really difficult for a coach. Love the way DT delivered this message

Was able to attend RAF1 in person up in Cleveland and had a blast. Loved having the ability to see multiple world champions and olympians compete. Besides a few video/audio blunders (very minimal) it was a really clean production and I cannot wait for the next card. The only thing that I thought was (as the youths say) "cringe" was all the manufactered beef and sh*ttalking (Woods and Caldwell, Hendrickson and Parris etc). Awkward at best. You know when you are watching a tv show or a movie and they have wrestling on display and you can immediately tell that the actors either have never wrestled before in their lives or have only learned to wrestle over the past few weeks? That's how these interactions looked. Completely disengenuine, forced, and fake. Either hire a professional to teach "beefing with others 101" or just let your wrestling do the talking. (ps I know that this is mainly to drum up likes and eyes on the event so I get it, just sharing my opinion of the optics)

Kind of a weird question, can a wrestler wrestle for a specific college but also at a different RTC/WC? So in this case Bo chooses to wrestle at Pitt but then in the offseason trains at NLWC?

gotcha, so every school that participates in the revenue sharing gets a piece of the 20.5m and they can divvy that up across sports?

I've seen this being talked about, but don't really understand what it means. Does it just mean the universities can now pay athletes based on the revenue they make?

Yea I think that's where my confusion came in.....so what you were saying is he would have a limit to eligible schools that would allow him to transfer in right? When I first read your post I thought there was a new guideline that was being implemented in regards to the portal (9am on a Monday so the coffee still needs to kick in)

Is it better to train in that environment for a couple of seasons and soak up as much information and knowledge as possible and then transfer out for his final two years?

I feel like with how advanced scrambling and leg passes have become in neutral, this might take a while for a freestyle specific athlete to understand and be successful either implementing or defending.
