I don't think even the most hardcore international fans have any idea who that dude is.

He was not a player at 97kg he was 0-3 last year outside of the African games, and to me he just looked like a 97kg that did not diet. I assume they both struggled finding a good opponent for Wyatt and simultaneously his coaches probably did not want anything that would derail his confidence.

you can't make a statement like that without knowing how much they are being paid.

Apparently you think they just fetch for our amusement.

I don't think they fetch for our entertainment. I would think, however, that wrestlers would want to.. idk.. wrestle? What are guys that didn't make the team doing from July until the following April?

I used to PAY to wrestle tournaments on weekends! As a post-collegian!

You aren’t alone I paid a few times post college to wrestle in the MAWAs lol

Exactly what I was referring to!  One time at MAWAs, I was mentioning a co-worker of mine to an acquaintance who was also wrestling at MAWAs.  My co-worker was a lacrosse D1 all-America and may now be in the lax HoF.  Regardless of how he is remembered 30 years later, he was considered a transcendant passer at the time.  I mentioned that he was a pro lax player.  My fellow competitor ridiculed him saying "Pro? Those guys get paid like $250 a game!"

At that point I reminded him that we were paying $20 or $30 or whatever the entrance fee was at MAWAs that day.

That Ortiz/Sonnen thing was painful to watch.

I like the idea pulling in the MMA stars to help cross-sell with that fan base, but I don't think there's anyone out there that wants to see Sonnen and Ortiz on the mat again.  Even putting Ortiz on the mic seems like a mistake, as it makes the whole event look unserious -- especially to MMA fans, who know Ortiz was put to pasture by the UFC over a decade ago.

I enjoyed the first event.

I looked around at the rest of what my fox offering included, and there wasn't really anything there for me.
So I unsubscribed to the annual plan and will resubscribe on a monthly plan whenever the events are announced.  If the events were already laid out on a monthly basis for the next year, I would just keep the annual plan, but it's not clear to me how often they will compete.

World champ vs US 4/5th on the ladder. Should be lopsided but you never know

World champ at 57 KG against a guy who has been 61/65 KG?  Weight classes exist for a reason.

I wonder if they would allow arm bars in this match? 🤔

Was able to attend RAF1 in person up in Cleveland and had a blast.  Loved having the ability to see multiple world champions and olympians compete.  Besides a few video/audio blunders (very minimal) it was a really clean production and I cannot wait for the next card.

The only thing that I thought was (as the youths say) "cringe" was all the manufactered beef and sh*ttalking (Woods and Caldwell, Hendrickson and Parris etc). Awkward at best.  You know when you are watching a tv show or a movie and they have wrestling on display and you can immediately tell that the actors either have never wrestled before in their lives or have only learned to wrestle over the past few weeks?  That's how these interactions looked.  Completely disengenuine, forced, and fake.  Either hire a professional to teach "beefing with others 101" or just let your wrestling do the talking.

(ps I know that this is mainly to drum up likes and eyes on the event so I get it, just sharing my opinion of the optics)

I actually think Caldwell didn't take it too kindly... the 'game' that Woods was playing.  It was fun for Woods, but I think Caldwell actually didn't like it.

I think the beef between Pindrickson and Parris is real.  Parris had a smirth on his face... like a big brother smirk, and Pindrickson's body language was more that he was the 'big dog' now.  There is smoke to that one.

Tito has definitely suffered brain damage.

Tito is definitely far from brain damaged.   He is actually doing some pretty wonderful community based things right now, and I can assure you he is far from brain damaged.

They were both all smiles from what I saw?

I think they're both just good dudes.  Body posture from Pindrickson told me he wants that smoke.
