my former cope was that sasso got shot while purchasing, which isn't great but i wouldn't have minded...pretty obvious he's closer to the wrong side of the deal.

Other than deep cynicism, what would prompt you to think that?  Is there something obvious I'm missing?  Because otherwise it seems like this second incident could easily be explained as a reaction to the first incident (guns for protection, THC vapes for PTSD).  The administrative error of not having the car registered just compounding it all.  But I would prefer to give more benefit of the doubt than what you have done - unless we know something more about it than what was reported.

The whole shooting thing was never really explained as far as I could tell.  Leaves folks to wonder.

Wondering is one thing, but to state that [something] is obvious is different to me.

I saw this posted earlier by someone else with a different pic. I searched for any Sammy Sasso news and couldn't find anything.

Happy to hear this - hoping he can get this sorted and thrive.

I’m a little skeptical of Mineo’s reporting here. I don’t think that things get proven at a preliminary hearing and Sasso’s attorney waived the preliminary hearing.  So I don’t know how anything could have been proved at this particular preliminary hearing.  Pretty much nothing happened yesterday and things are just proceeding.  He does appear to be facing three misdemeanor charges and one summary offense.  Next court date is 8/28.

Best thing is that the guns are registered, and he had the Ohio permit. I think This would lead prosecutors to remove the felony charges until he gets the permit paperwork corrected. Unless the prosecutors believe he was in the wrong place, doing no good, then they could get the permit rescinded for the THC possession and use and ask for more stringent charges..

While the charges may not appear that bad, I doubt Lehigh gives him a second chance.  Administrators prefer coaches don't get arrested and they are not going to take the risk on a non revenue sport.

Asking for a friend.  Where can you get these for $5.   Not me I promise.

Michigan has become the Amsterdam of the midwest. Not sharing this as an endorsement or recommendation, but its fairly commonly known.

old article - likely discussed in this thread … but the entirety of the read paints a picture of an idiot.  Summary … “Let’s drive around in a car with an expired registration along with multiple guns while smoking weed.”

Really freaking bad judgment and decision making.  Sammy might be a great guy but this is a crap look.

*the smoking weed part is me figuring this is what he was doing base on this part of the article:

As Sasso was exiting the vehicle, according to police, an officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. He then saw what appeared to be packaging from a marijuana dispensary on the rear seat of the vehicle.

Police said they also observed a separate canister that contained remnants of a green leafy substance.

Sasso told police he does not have a valid Pennsylvania medical marijuana card, the affidavit said.

It sounds like he had flower and not vapes/carts.  A tiny little jar of today's nugs will stink up an entire room, much less a car.  In terms of marijuana consumption, smoking flower is absolutely the least discreet way of going about it.  Vape pens and especially edibles barely have any odor that a human (K9 might be different) would notice in a routine stop.

Some of these modern day weed strains, just sitting in a bag in a drawer wrapped in a sock - brand new and not having been smoked at all - can not only stink up a room, it can be smelled on different floors of a house. Incredibly pungent. These days, dogs are not necessarily required to detect unsmoked pot...a human nose suffices.
