NEVER answer personal questions being asked by random posters on the internet.

They are simply building a profile of who you are based on your responses to add to their data collection.

2nd best advice received:

Son, there are two theories on how to win an argument with a woman.  Neither one works.

Breathe!

This was...shockingly good advice that never once dawned on me until I started coaching.

I had a HWT, he was a great FB player, he was 6'4 270, he could run all day, he was fine in practice, but he was backing up guys his first 3 years who'd all placed in State. He finally got his shot and he would gas about 90 seconds into the match.

It took about 10 minutes until an assistant said 'he's holding his breath.' The nerves were getting to him and he just...wasn't breathing. Not even regulating his breath, but he was holding it for long stretches.

Never would have dawned on me. Good kid, ended up being pretty good and played 4 years of College Football.

I like the advice: ‘Don’t let negativity win; spread good to overcome it.’

That’s why a few of us sometimes post light-hearted topics to balance out divisive topics like 'MAGA earns their rewards.'

Like exercise, expressing gratitude will reduce stress and increase your happiness.  Show gratitude daily.

Done is better than perfect.

Perfect is always better than done. Always. Every single time.

So you are saying we should've never landed on the moon, the B-17 & B24 bombers P-51s etc should've never been build during WWII, clearly Tesla should've never built an electric car ... I could go on.

I mostly agree in a safety-critical context.  Done usually trumps perfect unless massive stakes are on the line.  Done lets you learn and improve; perfect can paralyze you.

My oldest was not turning in her school work on time because she was obsessing over every word on writing assignments.  We had to learn that a "B" is better than a "F."

In my work, I can pick two between quality, features, and time...  (release features fast, get feedback fast, iterate fast... repeat cycle... then harden.)

Are you that dumb?

Wouldn't a "perfect" bomber be better than an imperfect one? EVERY SINGLE TIME

"Don’t worry, be crappy” - Guy Kawasaki meaning it’s better to ship something imperfect but functional than to stall indefinitely.

But - all things being equal - isn't it better to ship something perfect than to ship something less than perfect.

EVERY SINGLE TIME.
