Gimme Blaze over PJ but I think the first 3 are all at least a tier separated from Bassett.

Yeah I think a tier system makes more sense than rankings and those three are tier 1 right now.

Taking into account results so far, is this disputable?

But if you rank by bags of cash ... 💰 💰

But Duke made Final X and Blaze did not.

I don't think I like steroid dealers and suspected pimps talking about children like this...

I'll take Duke over the field AND I think you're right, those three are a tier(a very small tier) ahead of Bassett. Though, as a recruit, Bassett may be the most valuable with his following, the potential to bring along a couple other elite Wrestlers and the energy he brings to a program.

And that's of course why Iowa gave him that 5 year 265M deal...because as Jimmy tells me, they just buy all their Wrestlers(though...pretty sure PSU has the most funding, but...never mind that).

It's the following he brings to the sport, it's the PA kid going to Iowa, it's the kids that might follow him. I think he wants to kinda "build" a program...well, he wasn't doing that at PSU, OSU(either) or Iowa, but he CAN in theory RE-build Iowa into a National Champ(or at least a threat). It's also just good for Iowa. Now you have Bassett, Ferrari, Keuter, Arnold, Deluca. That's a helluva group of 5. I like Estrada(he seems like just a quiet kid both in terms of his personality and how little people talk about him). But those 5 guys, I think 2 are near locks if they're healthy to win NC in Ferrari and Keuter

I don’t think there was a final X last year

He's mixing it up with the US world team trials where he lost to Vito in two

The quantity of HS challenging the senior-level of wrestling now is quite surprising to see.

(Was a rarity before... now becoming more prevalent today.)

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I think Duke and Jax are the top 2 (no particular order) because their more high scoring than Blaze and have had more senior level success than Bassett (and I think they are more dynamic scorers than Bassett is)

Way too soon to tell. Give it a full season or two.

Marcus has 2 wins over Jax a win over Luke 5 wins over national champs 3 wins over world team members and has gone 3,2,3 at world team qualifying events.

Jax has 2 wins over world team members 3 wins over national champs an old win over Luke and Marcus.

PJ has 2 wins over national champs no wins over former team members (did win a bracket with one).

I think recency bias leans Jax and PJ a bit however I think overall body of work leans Marcus a smidge still. I do agree PJ and Jax have a lot more ways to score though. Marcus feels like he could develop some pretty prolific offense and already has world class defense. The only offensive points he gave up the entire tournament were off a forced shot against Jesse with about 25 to go and he definitely has some growing to do to be a full 65kg.

What is really insane is that in 2028 the 65kg field likely looks like

Jax
Marucs
Valencia
Mendez
Hardy
Bassett
Woods
Vito
Davino
Larkin
Lovett?
Henson?

Yea Marcus is as good as they come when it comes to positioning, I just don't see him winning shootouts the way Jax does. However, if anyone can help you add some offense it is that PSU room.

I think it's too early to rank them.  They all have a lot of upside.  It is plausible that Jax in the long run may have a higher ceiling over Blaze if Marcus doesn't develop offensively.  At the same time, for the near future, Jax might struggle to get the better of Blaze while they remain at the same weight.  Stylistically Blaze is a nightmare for a lot of wrestlers

I think Blaze already has great offense, he just doesn't use it. Similar to Starocci, he seems to be able to score when he needs to, but frustratingly doesn't do much to score until then.
