Does Minnow making a living from posting on FB? He sure does stir the pot a lot with weird posts.

That's...just insane.

I've cut a lot of weight(or so I thought)...and the most I've lost was...13-15 pounds in the last 3 days and maybe 10 pounds the night before. 25 pounds in 72 hours is...WILD.

I honestly don't know how much i would cut per week my senior year in college.  I would only make weight once a week, and generally was too afraid to check the scale until maybe two days before.  I wrestled 150 (should've probably been a 158 but I wouldn't have been a starter.)  I'd make 150 Friday night.  Go in for the Saturday dual, check weight then... 170+ after 14-16 hours to eat and rehydrate.  Binge for a couple days.  I prob wouldn't check my weight again until Wednesday after practice.  Usually still low double digits over.  Break out the sauna suit and a lot of extra running.  Make weight on Friday.  BTW, I would eat something every day and just squeeze that water right out of me.  I was an all-American weight cutter, but nowhere near an all-American wrestler.  I actually got worse at wrestling, but I was a starter and I was pretty big the day of the match.

lets keep in mind that the other guy was visibly bigger than nickal....so he needs to toughen up or stop coping with tall tails about brutal weight cuts.

same topic, he's posting videos making a spectacle of all the moisture caught up in his plastics, A) thats incredibly common, I've done it and seem probably a hundred other people in the same situation, B) posting it on social media to get gasps from soccer moms is cringe.

Its cringe that I care but I've had to watch this guy relentlessly toot his own tuba for ten years and need to point out he's failing the test you need to pass if you're gonna act like that when things are going well.

With regard to supporting wrestlers (former or college 😜),  If Nickal isn't going to support wrestlers doing different ventures, like JB doing commentary for ESPN, then I don't know why he should expect the entire wrestling community to support him in his non wrestling ventures.

Haha that's why I asked. Your question got picked up by the crew. They see it the way you see it.

I see that.  I'm glad, it seems so obviously stupid that I want to laugh...except it's Minnow leading the charge, so I know he probably really thinks it, and also is able to convince himself that it's different for the PSU guys to root for Ono over Lee.

Bo will be back - hopefully at a more comfortable weight. I like Henry Cejudos approach

Cedudo lost the last two matches I saw.   He looked listless and not willing to do anything aggressive.   Has he had more fights since then?   That was about a year ago.

Not in the UFC...

Way better opponents than Nickal.  Although it was controversial, the diminished Robbie Lawler that Askren submitted was arguably more highly regarded than RDR, and if not, it was close.

Askren lost a competitive fight to Maia, one of the greatest MMA BJJ practitioners ever.

Askren brutally KOed by Masvidal, who was coached up by Mike Thomas Brown, who is in charge of Team Nickal.

I haven't seen or heard a word from Aaron Pico since he started fighting in Bellator. On the other hand, I can't get away from seeing Bo Nickal content. I am not going to root for an arrogant prick just because he comes from the same sport I like. He's a clown and maybe he'll be more tolerable now that he can't pretend like he'd beat anyone in the world if given the chance. The UFC has coddled him and selected opponents to help him build his reputation and anticipation of his future match-ups, and he got booed in his last fight for being so boring, and then just got embarrassed in this fight.

Sometimes a direct angled knee strike can be more damaging than a glancing blow. To drop like that means he got hurt bad.

I LOVED that Askren/Masvidal result 😄 Askren running his loud, disrespectful mouth. He got shut up REAL fast once the fight was on.

I almost asked this question earlier.   Has the 1 hour weigh rule in ncaa wrestling made modern wrestlers soft when it comes to weight cutting?

note: I’m not suggesting ncaa change the rule and go back…. Just curious as people think these weight cuts are super crazy but happened a lot back in the day.

I thought missing weight wasn't totally uncommon in the UFC. Not saying that it happens everyday, but outside of title fights I thought if a fighter misses weight they can request a catchweight match for a lesser portion of the purse... which is kind of a BS move if you're atrophied and sucked down and on weigh-in day your opponent is like oops, sorry, I'm over but let's fight anyway?

I'll also take the "soft" NCAA weight cutting protocol if it means avoiding some insane looking Cris Cyborg situations. That's an extreme example for sure, but a lot of people either don't know how to cut weight or will do it in a very reckless way if given the option.

He doesn't; but I'd love to find his reporting supervisor and see what he thinks of Patrick arguing on social media on company time.

I would guess that a majority of those who miss weight also lose their fights.  Not all (Khamzat) but I would guess a majority.  That is the conventional wisdom: they weren't taking it seriously and weren't prepared.

He’s pretty easy to find on LinkedIn.
