So now the question is, does Snyder wrestle even though he can? If he is going to try to repair things with himself and his family, it’s hard to imagine that an international trip to Croatia would be good for him and his wife right now. Or maybe he can bring the family along for a nice vacation and it will work out?

hahahahahaha

OP said 'In or out' in regards to Kyle Snyder and his status after the hooker bust.

If he knows he will not, he needs to do the right thing and try to advocate for Aiello getting a shot at Final X.

I know Zillmer beat Aiello, but Aiello was the Runner-up at the Open, which would have made him the highest placer.  Aiello also beat the 3rd placer at the Open at the Open and the 3rd placer at WTT at WTT, so it is almost a no-brainer.

Nice of him to wear his Ohio State blazer to his hearing.  Buckeyes must be so proud of him.

He should have worn his penn state gear.  That's his home now.

Ouch.  Hope he can recover from this without a total family breakdown.

If his wife has a brain, she will leave his sorry azz.

No woman should put up with her husband "frequenting" hookers.

Oh yeah, it was his first time with a hooker.  Sure.....

I agree but I don’t think there’s any way USA wrestling does this. I’d guess if Snyder says he’s out, Zilmer is automatically in. Isn’t this kinda like what DT did and Downey got the spot?

I guess people didn’t watch the video, and didn’t realize the picture of him in an OSU jacket was imposed on the link and not a picture of him in court, being that he was not in court but ‘attended’ via telecommunication…..but have to comment anyway.

Good observation. Thank you.

Eh, that was a little different.  DT hid it even from his own team until it was too late to do anything except annoint Blue Dragons Jr.

Snyder could proactively be very generous here.

Why do believe it works like that?

I never said I did.

I said it was a great opportunity for Snyder to do something good.  Also, that Aiello should be doing something to put a waiver or something in.

If Snyder knows he isn't going, doing good should be a huge priority for him.

Do I think any of it makes sense, or matters?  Nope.

My mistake. I just must not be getting what you're meaning. It's the second time you've advocated for Snyder to speak up to give Aiello a chance to wrestle.

Is your point being this is something that Snyder could do to make himself look good?

My understanding is that they are following established procedure.  If Snyder were to not give it a go, Zilmer wins by forfeit.  Zilmer earned that spot, just as Snyder earned his own spot.  If they were to change the established procedure at this point, they would be opening themselves up to litigation and hard feelings from Z.  They can change it for next quad (maybe even next year), but my guess is they are stuck with this system for the time being.

(I made it through the whole post without saying "withdraws" or "pulls out.")

I mean, I could certainly see Aiello having a decent argument for his own litigation.  If Snyder withdraws, then shouldn’t Aiello be considered the winner of the Open?

No.  Snyder won the open.  He gets the final x spot.  That is what the procedures say.  Snyder didn't get DQed from his US Open placement, which would have given Aiello some standing.  Snyder would be voluntarily forfeiting, and it would be next man up.  HZ earned that distinction last weekend.

It could, yes.  Not that he is worried about that right now.

As you said, it most certainly wouldn't matter.

As much, or easy as it is to say 'Aiello should' the other side of that is 'Zillmer did' earn his Final X bid.

What would happen if somebody won the Open and got hurt training two weeks later? Would they be able to opt out and decline the bid?

In the past, certain individuals were able to delay the challenge match if they had a verified injury.  In the past, I think you had to be a defending World/Olympic medalist.  (Dake did this with Dieringer; I watched Gutches vs Burton at Fargo) Today, I am not sure of the rules, but they are probably similar.  I don't think Snyder would qualify for a delay after not medaling last year, but he doesn't need a delay anyway after the recent reinstatement.

And I guess this isn't what you asked, anyway.  I just re-read your question.  I am not sure of that procedure, but it is too late at this point.  My guess is the only way the open runner-up makes Final X is in the case of a drug suspension, which would bump everyone from the open up a place.

She shouldn't have to put up with it, but it's her choice. It's easy to say how someone else should handle their issues but I never wish divorce on anyone.  Families have many challenges

Marstellar's wife should have left him....thank god she didn't.

Snyder will not be given a delay, and from a PR perspective if he had the audacity to request that, it would sour even those  most ardent in supporting his endeavor. Seeing as this is the superior board to the parallel-ride stalling board and poop-talking is discouraged, I'll say this:

I have zero insight into his personal life, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's probably sleeping in a new bedroom. We are (mostly) all adults and have probably seen a friend/coworker/enemy on the rival dodgeball team go through infidelity on one side or the other. What usually happens? Typically two scenarios:

1) Everything stops for the philanderer. Everything. Reasons vary, but this is the most common outcome if the partner chooses to proceed. Results... vary...

2) Everything is poured into work because the partner chooses to move on after betrayal and the philanderer has a sole focus when nothing else is left.

If 1 then Snyder's done. No more medals. He may compete, but I'm calling it. He still belongs on Mt. Rushmore. If 2, then 2026 world champ incoming and it will be from Stillwater. This has been your daily dose of USAWTMZ.
