He wrestled 65 kg this weekend. I don't see him cutting an addition 18.3 lbs, making it on a consistent basis, and being any kind of effective.

He looked should I say not in shape at 65kg. I agree though I don't know that he has been that light since he was a freshman in high school.

I wonder if Shawver could go back down and Gibson stay at 133

Shawver looks MUCH bigger than Gibson.

If Gioffre is healthy that is a solid add.  Chris Moore had a really good US Open at 86kg (189.2lbs), so I am thinking he could be moving up.  Hoping to see a portal add at 197 soon.

And otherwise maybe Connell could bump up if Moore is taking 184 anyway

No, the LDS church denounces acting upon same-sex attraction and AJ broke the rules yesterday. Cael knows. He can probably throw a bit, New Jersey has great LL baseball programs and Texas is elite.

Wrestlestat now has Ruth listed at 184... Is that official?

Have him or Connell go up.  I think both are comparable at either weight.  Ruth might have a higher peak, but he has a lower valley (I think).

Looking at some Big 10 lineups on WrestleStat.  Regarding Wisconsin:

1)  Is Amos gonna be back and going up to HWT?  Is Dillon Johnson just focused on football?

2)  Is Zargo really coming back at 149--I never heard any update on his recovery and whether he would attempt to return?

3)  What is the status of Julian George...will he fit in at 149/157?  I thought he was a solid recruit coming out of HS but hasn't wrestled much at all....

Connell is just as likely to not even qualify as he is to qualify. There is no way Ruth isn't qualifying. I don't think Connell is in the lineup next year unless he can get to 174. Moore wrestled 86KG at the open instead of 79. That tells me 174 is a bit too far away. He won't be Ruth out. 197 is the spot, especially with no one else there. Though it sounds like Lautt might be on his way there soon, but Moore would beat him, even if under-sized.

I looked at the roster this afternoon and Nitzel is gone.

Checked today, and rosters seem to be completed. Not sure when this was done, but I haven't seen anything mentioning it. 30-man maximum and all incoming Mizzou freshmen listed. Now that the final (hopefully?) roster was released and the US Open tournament has concluded, I'm doing my projected (or at least the one I want to see) Missouri lineup.

125: Mack Mauger [Luqman Masud, Hank Benter]

133: Gage Walker [Kade Moore]

141: Josh Edmond [Easton Hilton, Jace Roller, Owen Uhls, Boogie Harris, Seth Mendoza]

149: Zeke Seltzer [Nate Pulliam]

157: James Conway [Joel Mylin, Kollin Rath, David Gleason]

165: Max Mayfield [Logan Cole, Kolten Oborny, Dominic Bambinelli, Danny Heiser]

174: Cam Steed [Jake Stoffel]

184: Aeoden Sinclair [Peyton Westpfahl]

197: Colton Hawks [_____]

285: Jarrett Stoner [Jacobi Jackson, Sampson Stillwell]

First, I don't think anyone but Seth Mendoza or Sampson Stillwell should wrestle as a true freshman. Everyone (yes, that includes Rath) should be redshirted. If Mendoza chooses not to redshirt, I have a feeling he'll cut down to 133 and be (am I crazy?) a title contender (I just don't think the Byrds and the Ayalas would be too far ahead of Mendoza, if at all). I want Gage Walker to have the 133 spot, but I'd give him a 25% chance of beating Kade Moore. Is a bummer Crapps is leaving, as that should've been his spot. Second, I do not see the value in bringing in Jacobi Jackson. I do not know the guy, seems like some do. Am I missing something? I would be very surprised if we saw too much of a change or improvement in the lineup. This should be a rebuild year. The team needs to find someone to lock that 149 weight class down.

Eh. I see where you’re coming from, but based on his HS resume, I don’t see anything that indicates to me that he’s ready to knock off Ayala, Byrd, Crookham, etc. I think he could stand in there and be competitive. But I’m not ready to say he can beat any of them.
