Who are the Most Valuable Transfers this year?  Only factor in this year's performance and not past or future performance.

Nominees:

  • Kyle Parco (Fresno State, Arizona State to Iowa)
  • Jacori Teemer (Arizona State to Iowa)
  • Buchanon (Oklahoma to Wyoming to Iowa)
  • Caliendo (NDSU to Iowa)
  • Pindrickson  (Air Force to Ok St)
  • Hamiti (Wisconsin to Ok State)
  • Mesenbrink (Cal Baptist to Penn State)
  • Kerkvliet (Ohio State to Penn State)
  • Cardenas (Cornell to Michigan)
  • Barraclough (Penn State to UVU)
  • Ferrari (Ok State to Iowa to CSU)

My top 3:

  1. Mesenbrink
  2. Pindrickson
  3. Ferrari

Good catch.  I did not know he was a transfer.

Really?!? He was a mid year transfer and hasn't been at Lehigh for 3 months yet.   I didn't even know you could transfer for just one semester until Trephan did it.

Buchanan started at Wyo then OU. Before yesterday I would say he and Ayala give/gave Iowa hope for a finalist. Similar to Hamiti and Hendrickson at Ok State.

Agree on Mesenbrink #1

McGonagle is a one loss conference champ. He deserves a mention.

I was going to say Connor McGonagle (LEHIGH to Va.Tech.) until I was called away from my desk... good catch, Gus.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I like this topic and agree with most everyone, but what about the worst transfer??

I am totally disappointed with Amine the most!  I'm beating that he doesn't AA again this year. He was a waste in my opinion!

He seems to be the same guy he was at Michigan.  Did he get a big NIL bag?  Teemer is not paying dividends either given how much he supposedly got.

This is new this year.

Amine is much worse.

What's the criteria?  I think that Barraclough to UVU is a gamechanger and catalyst for change for that program.  Although he won't do what MM will do at NCAAs I could argue he is more "valuable" to the wolverines.

Not really.  Nathan Galloway did it in 2007, transferring from Penn State to Rider in January...

Sunderland pulls Bubba's shirt, setting the stage future issues when Carl came along in 2009.

Caliendo is about as close to a lock to be a finalist as possible. No one is beating him except Mess

Hendrickson so far.  22-0, and won the Big 12 title for OSU after his teammates went 0-5 in the finals to let UNI tie it up heading into the final match..

My bad. Mesenbrink is so dominant I lose track of everyone else in that weight class.  I would love to see Caliendo close that gap.

I don't count Messenbrink in that mix as he was doing Grade 13 in Cali...but I will say that Michigan has done a great job with JC.  He was never very good from the bottom...a Cornell weakness...I was shocked they put him down vs Buchanan and he was up and out.  Super happy for him as he seems like a great kid who knocked off the two guys ranked above him in 24 hours.  Who knows what the future holds at Natls but he got his degree from Cornell and now is in grad school at Michigan.  I assume he will be just fine regardless.

Messinbrink vs Caliendo reminds me of Zane and Sorensen back in the day. 1 out of 10 matches Caliendo gives Messenbrink a match, like Sorensen did with Zane.
