Fun tidbit:  Cannon id 19W-1L at 157lbs.  He has one loss to a 149lber up at 165lbs as well.

Him beinf 20W-2L or 21W-1L depending on his result tomorrow is going to help for seeding purposes in that W% category.

His mat wrestling is going to keep him in matches with anyone. He’s tough.

What would happen if hypothetically the injury time happened with over a minute left and the top wrestler rides out? Just curious because riding time was ticking for Peterson there.

Per the NCAA Rulebook:

First Sudden-Victory Period. In tournament or dual-meet competition when competitors are tied at the end of three regular periods, the first round of overtime shall begin with a sudden-victory period of two minutes with no rest between the regular match and the sudden-victory period. The sudden victory period will begin with both wrestlers in the neutral position. Exception: Nonbleeding injury timeout. If, because of a first nonbleeding injury timeout, a wrestler secures one minute of riding time at the conclusion of the sudden victory period, that wrestler shall be awarded one point for riding time and be declared the winner.

Tough day for the Hawkeyes, I wonder if those guys have been working too hard?

Joey Cruz is out of NCAAs, I think, unless he gets some sort of at large invitation.

thanks, I am trying really hard to fit in.

Well stop doing that immediately. We're dummies. Especially the ones that don't realize...

Danny Braunegal got robbed.

Agreed…  Nebraska coaches should have probably gotten a team point deduction too

Question regarding the 9th or 11th place brackets.  Why are some on track called 9th and others 11th? And are there still two spots available from it in the hwt division since the high seeded Rutgers kid is not participating ? I believe there are but less sure since it is called 11th place bracket and not 9th.  Thanks

It’s based on how many allocations each weight gets, they need to wrestle to 1 additional place than the allocation.  So if there are 10 allocations they wrestle to 11th.  And I think 11th place bracket is pretty much just the 9th place but they add an additional “3rd” place match

He's still in the running for the 9th allocation. He is in the 9th place bracket - if he wins the next two he gets a spot.

Full Pinto Braunagel match.

Nebraska coaches first get heated because of the sequence starting at 7:55 and that may have been a legitimate complaint, so maybe the one at the end was a makeup call.

There’s probably also a decent argument Braunagel should have had 2 NF around 4:40 though

The ref did signal a team point deduction. I assume that was not reviewable and it stood.

Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge

Thanks, I forget about the 9th place bracket.

Manning wins the most obnoxious coach award.  Of course he wins that for lifetime achievement.

Pffft. He'd just be an also-ran if John Smith was still around 😄

You go back, Jack, do it again, wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back, Jack, do it again

When you know she's no high climber then you find your only friend
In a room with your two-timer, and you're sure you're near the end
Then you love a little wild one and she brings you only sorrow
All the time you know she's smilin' you'll be on your knees tomorrow, yeah

You go back, Jack, do it again, wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back, Jack, do it again

OK, now you got me singing and hummin this song.  "Go back Jack do it again!"  Was a great back seat song. Fond memories in a fading mind.

Didn't see it live, thanks for the replay.  All I can say is a Jombo turd on the refs and all the Nebraska coaches!  💩

Remember when you predicted him to AA? 🤔
