Not a great source here, but I will throw it out as rumor. Rumor has it Chittum is going to RS this year and wants to go to a BIG10 school. I thought he RS'd already?? but I don't keep up with him. I guess we will see if he is in the lineup this weekend. I know he wrestled unattached this past weekend

No, he greyshirted at a B1G school (Iowa) then moved on. He is classified as a junior - 2 years at Iowa State + this year will be competing/ redshirt/ burn a year.

How many schools would that make for him?? Iowa, Iowa St, Ohio St? Chattanooga?? Hard to keep track, some people change underwear less frequently…

I could be wrong about this, like I said, this source is not reliable....but he could know for sure.  He told me he IS NOT wrestling for chat this year, hence why he wrestled unattached. He went on to say he wants to go the the BIG10. I didn't buy in because above someone mentions he doesn't have one to burn.

i can confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that he IS redshirting this year. as far as wanting to transfer out and go to a b1g school, i dont doubt it very well could be the case, but i'd guess that of all the times he's changed schools, wanting to leave chatt, his hometown, isn't as likely as the other programs...

Why would Chattanooga take him if he's just going to redshirt and then transfer? He was a late add to their roster and not announced with the rest of their new roster additions.  Something is definitely fishy

Belief they can convince him to stay, the exposure/development benefits from having him in the room with the team for the year, who knows

Yeah, this. I know he has a rep for hoping around a ton but him going there and telling coach ruschell he wants to burn his rs then leave just doesn't sound right. Not saying they're wrong.

 

But just the little i know about coach ruschell based on how he's recruited other kids i know, even with cody being the number 1 overall recruit and hometown boy, i dont think he'd want him there to not compete and leave.

I’m glad he’s getting a chance to finish his career on the mat and not the bench.He had some nice wins last season over Alvarez, Fernandez, Realbuto, Buesgens. He can be a dangerous draw in March

Agree , it would be strange for Maryland to bring in a 141 mid season and replace Lemus.. Young also has a win over #9 at 149 and has a win over Fernandez who apparently is going to replace #3 Joy in the line up second semester
