Still doesn't have donky-flop on 42 year old Tanner Hall, who is looking to use his last year of eligibility next season.

I made it through college in 3 years. Technically I should still have a year's eligibility, right? Graduated in 1986.

Don't get my hopes up.

Him and Hunter Mason together would help elevate that room significantly.

Today?

But the portal ended up not even mattering last year, with all the late action involving ASU/Iowa/SDSU.

So after today athletes can still enter and have no penalty/forfeiture for the season?

"Welcome to the transfer portal...where the rules are made up and eligibility doesn't matter."

Somehow it seemed OK with the ASU/Iowa/SDSU movement, despite it being months after the portal closed.  Trepham, too.  Trepham lost to Trumble in a wrestle off and transferred to Lehigh after starting the season at NCST.

Reminds me of the NFL having a "salary cap"

It happens frequently that kids get their paperwork in by the “deadline” and guys like Mineo or Flo don’t find out until like 5 days after. Then we perceive it as guys entering the portal post deadline.

And yes, grad transfers are totally lawless.

Lawless or are their different rules for kids that graduate college and still have eligibility?

Grad Transfer can move whenever they want. The guys who haven't graduated from their schools yet have issues when it comes to transferring.

Grad transfers have the same portal deadline as everyone else. It was changed after last year's window.

Trepham as a grad transfer was allowed to enter the portal starting Oct 1.

I believe tomorrow May 2 is the last day to enter the portal. If I remember correctly, the loophole is that you can transfer schools and "walk on" without entering the portal. I am not sure if they close that loophole.

Does a kid actually have to enter the portal to move schools?  According to Damien Hahn the Iowa kids just showed up in his office asking to join the team and we’re never in the portal.

I think that is the loophole @Idaho referenced above.

I’m assuming “walk on’s” can still earn schollies and $

I assume if there is scholarship money available they can, and they can definitely get NIL.
