Lucas Byrd has wrestled in four post-seasons. He does not have any eligibility left.

One of those was 2021, yes he does

Is Chris Cannon done, heading back to 133, or heading back on out?  He has one more year, if gets a medical for 2023-24.

ISU is just an informed guess for AJ

also heard Michigan, OKST, and UNC for Facundo

and don't be surprised if Byrd leaves Illinois.

David Szuba is probably leaving Rider. and perhaps Isaac Dean as well .

Joel Adams will be at Oregon St.

If AJ ends up at ISU won't that cause chittum to leave again? I thought the Ferraris were why chittum left Iowa.  What's going on at Iowa State? A lot of guys are leaving.

Man I'd love to see him on the podium one last time, but he looked so beat up from this season.

Same.

I just don't see it at 141lbs, and I think he was still battling issues from concussions this last year.  If the latter part there is true and was the main reasoning for him never getting his footing (after the first period), then taking some time off and coming back 2nd Semester next year might be what his body needs.  We saw it in so many matches for him.  He'd come out aggressive, get in on legs (or even get takedowns) then the size would wear on him and he would wither away.  It didn't look like purely a size or gas issue, to me.

You don't go down in weight and get better at weight management.  Historically speaking, that just isn't a thing.  So what can we look forward to?  I want him healthy and happy.  If that is no wrestling at the NCAA D1 level next season, I get it.

Could we look forward to another medical next season then see him hit the ground running at 133lbs at, say Rutgers (who was a rumored landing spot when he went to Michigan) year after next?

Man that's like what, 7 years of college wrestling under his belt at that point?

Still younger than Tanner Hall was.

Heavyweight is easier anyway.  Didn’t he have several wins over Kueter?

Wonder if he ends up at PSU...kinda half serious, but all they really have is Mirasola, the...less accomplished of the two.

I would say HWT is going to be easier next year or two and since Kueter is playing Football again next year, anyone Wrestling full time should have a big advantage.

Maybe he could go back home to Chattanooga. Lord knows that program could use all the help they can get.

Kysen and Redding weren't going to make the lineup, I'm sure Dresser will help them find a spot to land. With roster sizes likely being reduced to 30 next year, Iowa State will have to cut some guys as the roster this year was well over 40 and we have a few high schoolers coming in along with whatever happens with the transfer portal. Losing Casey hurts, but there was a logjam there and I think most Cyclone fans realized we would never be able to hold onto all 3 of Casey, Paniro, and Chittum. Plus, seems likely Frost bros might be moving up.

Where does everyone think he ends up, I would assume somewhere with a good RTC (UM makes sense to me...)

Maybe Ohio State if he was close with Coleman and he stays there?

Is Coleman still doing the Ohio St gig since announcing The Farm?  Saw he and wife in Vegas in buckeye gear but at Iowa in real OSU colors.  🤠

Michigan would make sense with jumping in the RTC after college.

Losing McNeil really hurts UNC. Honestly, I’m pretty disappointed with the Koll era thus far. McNeil never got any better and now he’s leaving the same wrestler he was 3 years ago, the recruiting classes aren’t noteworthy as a whole (especially if the goal is to be competitive with State and VT), and we have been less competitive in the ACC and NCAA tourney than we were with Coleman.

I do understand that UNC doesn’t invest heavily in wrestling and that’s a barrier. But when you look around at programs like UNI with Coach Schwab (who also doesn’t have many resources) and look at the historical pedigree of Coach Koll- this kind of news is pretty frustrating.

When was the last time they beat VT in a dual?
