After watching both I think it is either very close - or a total blowout.

Carter is looking good.

Keck is looking like a world beater.

If anyone can beat Starocci, it is him. Active and rugged and can go the whole 7 minutes.

How do you see it?

Starocci wins. Good enough defensively to not get scored on, and savvy enough to get one TD that will make the difference in a match where I expect the margins to be very tight.

Acting as if Starocci cannot beat him is silly.  He legitimately did it.

Now add a full season of acclimating to the weight and bear in mind that he had a failed drop to 74 KG (163lbs) four months prior to their last meeting and I think this might look more controlling than last time.  Starocci did have 35 seconds of riding time to PK's 7 seconds that time, as well.

I think we might see Starocci get that riding time advantage.

Here is the match from November.

Just like the match they already wrestled.

Carter is 1-0 against Keckeisen so the question would be reversed. And yes, Parker can beat him. Will he? I do not believe so. Leading up to the NWCA classic I saw a lot of people picking Parker to win that. I think people are fueled by hopium on this one.

One day McEnnelly will might become like Keckeisen is today, but he isn't on that level yet. He couldn't get thru Gabe Arnold so I doubt he could get thru Carter.

This board has predicted or implied Ferrari Light, Keckeisen and now McEnnelly might beat Carter Starocci who hasn't lost in 4 years. I'm often wrong, so maybe it really could happen.

Didn't he beat Gabe Arnold though?

This isn't true.

I cannot unsee Carter controlling the hand fight and holding center the entire match as well as seeing keck gas which was something I never thought I would see. You can argue keck was not peaked for that one and will be for this, but I think the same is probably true for Carter.

I think an interesting question is this:

If Parker Keckeisen loses a close NCAA final to Carter Starocci, where does he rank all-time among 1x NCAA champs?

I'd certainly put him up there with Alan Fried, Andrew Howe, etc. as one of the best ever 1x champs.

Also, if PK were to beat Starocci and stop him from becoming 5x champ, is he in Hodge contention with guys like Gable, Mesenbrink who have no legit challengers?  Or does the winner of this match get MOW at the tournament and Gable gets the Hodge?
