I feel bad for Kueter.  He is the epitome of a dude who is just bodytype screwed by the weight class divisions.  Just doesn't have the horsepower to do anything about it when the big dudes decide to make a move.

The only man who can beat Gable.  He won't, but given the big move potential....

The poetic symmetry would be undeniable.

i congratulate you on not misusing the word 'irony'!

it ended up having no bearing on the match. I thought one of the more careless wrestlers was Spratley who after he got a takedown to take the 14 point lead immediately should’ve cut Cruz instead he started to let him up but then immediately jumped back on top and rode him out the last 25 seconds When it looked like he could’ve easily gotten the tech. Careless by OSU when the point might have mattered.

Some of the possible semifinals at NCAAs might prove be more exciting than the finals. Perhaps it could be like football, where the matchups before the Super Bowl are more competitive or interesting than the final game.

Hendrickson vs. Kerkviliet

Haines vs. Hamiti or KOT

Barraclough vs. Caliendo

Buchanan/Barr/Ferarri (some combination)

--------------

Bartlett/Mendez/Alirez  (some combination)

Keckheison vs. McEnally

Shapiro/Kasak/Teemer (some combination)

Van Ness vs. Lovett (redux)

Robinson/Figueroa/Ramos (some combination)

Fish was down 4 with a body lock at the end.

And you need to watch more wrestling if you think it's embarrassing to give up points to Teemer.

he scored 10 points at NCAA's one time last year. He's not some big scorer lol.

At least I can say my feeling regarding Caliendo getting the major over Amine was justified.

I also believe that they should pull Ferrari's redshirt.  Maybe Arnold can go 174.  Frankly I think he's probably a better option there anyway than Brands or Kennedy.

Semifinal round always the best night of wrestling IMO. If there's a snoozer finals match, there's not another match to watch.

Not to pick on Kueter, but he looks like he could use a break. Tonight’s dual was in hand, does Iowa have a backup HWT?

I don't disagree.  The rubber only meets the road from here.  It's gotta be a pretty hearty assault on the ego too, coming into college with some legit credentials, having to let go of football (intelligently) in pursuit of wrestling, but then just getting big brothered.

How he finishes this year will be very impactful for how the next two years go for him.  I hope he is able to recenter, but he's up against one of the toughest cohorts of heavies I can remember since the early 2000's.

You made me rewatch.  They were booing as Amine was clearly in pain and grabbing knee down in mat.  Watch it, very clear.  Piss poor.

Now I'll call your bluff.  That is just not what happened, and I just went a rewatched it. The crowd freaked immediately because they thought a TD opportunity was taken from their guy.  They quieted down in less than 3 seconds once it became clear he was hurt.  They clapped when he got up and walked and was coming back onto the mat.
