I think feldman is generally overrated. Like they know he's not top tier, but they want to pretend he's alone in another tier above everyone else, when in reality there are a handful of guys with a definite shot at beating him.

Um what? Did you see what he did last year after taking his RSFr year off to recover from back surgery? When you say overrated do you mean he's projected to be national champ? No one thinks that. He's definitely in the 4-6 range this year behind Gable, Kerk, and Hendrickson and will be a favorite to win in 2026 and 2027.

So please define what you mean when you say "Feldman is overrated"

To be fair to Hammer, he is not a fan of OSU in general from the coaching staff down to kid videoing with the iPad...

Kennedy is gonna beat Kharchla, I thought Turley was gonna take him out for a second.

I wouldn't say that he's separated himself into being alone in a second tier, but that he and Bastida (if healthy) are the clear leaders of that tier.

yeah but I think Schultz and Trumble are at least toss ups, plus the campbell kids already beat him but he's now done....I hear his name a lot for a guy whose a bad seed away from not placing and not getting upset either.

Kerk is also overrated since he can barely beat Feldman as evidenced at last year's NCAAs

I would tier HWT

Tier 1 Island:  Gable Stevenson

Tier 2:  Kerk, Hendrickson

Tier 3:  Bastida (if he wrestles), Feldman

Is it possible that Shultz is a Tier 3 guy and then there is a big Tier 4? I think if Shultz got right (physically, mentally, effort, attitude) he would be the only other guy to possibly push Kerk and Wyatt. 2022 happened a long time ago but that was a great run from him.

He barely got by Parris and Wood, but he did.  He could have just as easily been fifth...

it's possible, but I think he's just cooked at this point on college wrestling.  We've seen countless examples of this.

you're not even playing a semantic game, you're pretending too and hoping the effect works on people somehow.

To be overrated wouldn't people have to be picking him to win it all?  At the vert least place 2nd?

He beat last years 2nd placer twice without ever being in danger of losing.  At NCAAs Kerk, the NC, was gifted a 1-0 decision against him.  He was the only guy to make Kerk break a sweat.

As a note: Parris got surgery on his neck soon after.  He then had an undefeated hodge season, avenging each Kerk loss along the way.

Edit:  Parris was winning that match late and wouldn't stop trying to shoot under the 300lb mammoth.

Umm I'm using empirical evidence. I know that can be frustrating by people who lead by keyboard emotion but if you take a really, really deep breath then you would acknowledge that Feldman is appropriately rated.

He finished sixth last year, two who finished ahead are gone, he knocked off competition last year, he will continue to do so this year. He's in the running to finish as high as fourth where the top 3 are solidly locked in which is not as crazy as it sounds since 6-2=4. That's what we in the biz call "appropriately rated"

How about this, if he places top 5, you're right and I was wrong?

Me: He's overrated.

You: Provide evidence.

Me: Your prediction.

You: Yeah but he lost a match last year!

I was asking a question on clarity.

What defines being overrated, to you?

lol good question...A positive discrepancy between my perception of a wrestler and my perception of the wrestling communities perception of said wrestler.

So in this case, I offered top five believing that was a majority proposition to the wrestling community which i don't think will come to fruition.
