When will they stop meddling with the people they run.   They farked up with Hillary.   They did the same with the cackling head of Kamala.  You run a decent candidate you have a much better chance against Trump.   They can’t get out of their own way.

If Trump wins the popular vote are all those states that signed the National Popular Interstate Vote Compact going to make it a landslide by sending his electors to the count?

Of course.  They were doing that for honorable and principled reasons and nothing to do with partisanship.  Let those states' delegations counter the DEMOCRATIC desires of their own state populations and give their electoral votes away regardless of, you know, democracy.

So, Let's add 209 Electoral Votes (and maybe even 50 more pending) to Trump's total.

Joy Reid just blamed kamela losing north carolina on white women who wouldn’t vote for abortion.

Joy Reid is a hack. How does she still have a job?

Kamala wanted to do away with the filibuster (that's the only policy I remember her articulating) I think that is possible now.  Careful what you want wish for.

How long am I supposed to wait before I start claiming the election was stolen without any evidence as opposed to it just being a result I don't like?

I think this election is all the evidence you need to know that something wasn't right in 2020. 20 million democrats just don't disappear.

So why wouldn’t they have done it again now that they actually oversee the elections in those states? Laziness?

MSNBC is a joke in general but Joy is one of the stupidest people on TV. She’s claiming Kamala ran a “flawless” campaign lmao

This was a well-deserved loss by the Democrats.

My theory is they couldn't because people actually paid attention and the margin was too big to cover this time.

I think it’s more likely that the last 4 years were such a disaster that people didn’t see a real difference and stayed home.

The dems strategy is 100% anti-trump. it didn’t work as well this time because he hasn’t been in office for 4 years and he didn’t have to deal with post-covid fallout. Last election, we were mid-pandemic spiraling and trump was in the news everyday being annoying and people hated it so they voted different. but then Biden didn’t actually do anything meaningful in office and inflation skyrocketed so what reason did those people have to come back out. Trump also lost votes this time too. Just not nearly as many. That’s the benefit of not having to own the current state of things.

I never did understand the whole stay home thing. I mean you literally don't even have to leave your house if you don't want to.

I've talked to a number of people who like me, couldn't stomach either one of them.  I don't know if that's how those people voted, but I know that's how they were talking.   I'd be curious if that many people actually stayed home, which would be pretty disappointing to not vote at all, particularly your local elections, just because of the one pick at the top of the ballot.  OR- if there were a lot of people like me who voted, but not that line.

I always say you can't complain about the results if you didn't even vote.

I don't see the sense in complaining about the results either way....they are what they are.   But I do get your point.

The people who stayed home aren't complaining. They didn't vote because they didn't care who won. There are million and millions of people in this country that feel that way. We have one of the lowest voter participation rates in the democratic world.

I see MSNBC is now advocating to do away with the electoral college. Only problem is he won the popular vote too. Why is the reaction always trying to manipulate the system to get your preferred outcome? The electoral college has been around since 1787 but now all of a sudden it is a problem?

Never understood that either.  I think it is more representative of how out of touch with reality news outlets like MSNBC really are

Trump’s return to power raises serious questions about the media’s credibility | CNN Business

Holy shit it took them long enough. People just laugh when I say the media is biased.

Everything they reported up to the election had you thinking Kamala was going to win by a landslide.

Fear mongering and sensationalizing sells apparently.

I did not see a single outlet say Harris would win by a landslide. Every single media outlet I saw said it was too close to call. Which also turned out to be wrong. But that is bad data from bad polling. Not even Fox claimed Trump would win. They only made the case for him winning.

Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge

Frank Luntz had a very good interview this morning (think 11am hour MT so 1pm ET, I was driving) that everyone should hear.  Guessing it'll can be found on the YouTube.

...what are you talking about?  Voting levels change all the time.  Just get over it, there was no large scale fraud in 2020, he just got his ass kicked by the vanilla yogurt of politicians.  There was no large scale fraud this time, and he won, by a lot.  That's it.  It's not a grand conspiracy, he just lost an election before based on exactly the reasons @uncle bernard laid out above, and won, likely by UB's analysis on this election.  I say likely because it'll take months to get a fuller picture of why it happened, but I suspect he's right again.  A majority of the population feels the economy is bad and it's Biden's fault, and that's that.  The idea that they cheated so heavily just for one election and then stopped is asinine.  Trump has fewer votes than he had in 2020, they wouldn't have even had to "cheat" as much as they allegedly did in 2020.
