Right.  Because they run more slowly.

Dude, channel your internal war criminal, deplorable, nazi, garbage, bitter clinger stereotype for the lefties.  They need it to keep their sense of superiority and self-justification for oppressing, demonizing, shunning, castigating, education camping, vax passporting, censoring, and otherwise keep on de-freedoming us.

Cool...well, at least go into this with your eyes open.

Plan-Tariffs. The worst economic policy in US History when used in just blanket terms. The main cause of the Great Depression.

-Per Trump and his campaign it will lead to 2 years of a recession, cuts to SS, Medicare, the markets will "take a tumble," and then...HOPEFULLY we'll come out of it.

Put that in contrast to an economy with 2.1% inflation(the of ideal number being 2). Very low unemployment(we'd have massive problems if you deported every undocumented just from a purely financial standpoint) and they're warning you of the "hardships," you'll have to deal with for the next couple years.

If he's still your choice...alright. When you see the markets crash when he announces those tariffs, don't whine about it. I've done well enough the last 4 years I can pull my money out, put it in...bonds or whatever and make 20-30K a year on that and just stick that back in. But I'm not riding the market back down 20-25% in what's likely an optimistic scenario.

Oh I'm well aware his economic plans are a disaster. Just based upon his personal business dealings, I can't believe anything he wants to do is going to be good for anyone but himself.

I genuinely don't even know WHO the policies would be good for. At least if they were good for the wealthy, the personal harm would be off-set by the market continuing it's bull run, but it's bad for everyone.

I know a SR VP at Morgan Stanley who's been a friend since I was a kid and he was excited about Trump in '16 because he wanted to cut the corporate tax rate, but they're terrified this time. The saying the Bears have called 60 of the last 2 Bear Markets...well, when the people in power are telling you their going to cause a Bear Market...more people should listen.

All of this ignoring the fact that 4 years ago next Jan 6th, you had huge MAGA supporters saying they could never support Trump again and that's all out the window now. The only ones who haven't changed their minds are the Generals like Kelly, Miley, McMaster, etc....who have spoken about his fascist tendencies.

I'm worried China is going to gain as we...actively seek to slow the GDP for the HOPE in 3-4 years we come out on the other side better, but also...would he leave in 4 years? Would Eric Trump be appointed? It sounds outlandish...I don't think it is.

The early voting and the polling in the suburbs and even rural areas are actually giving me confidence we won't have to come to watch this pass.

I live in a suburban city that has mostly been conservative for years. I've seen more Harris signs than Trump ones on people's lawns. Also our Senate candidate is running against somebody who is an unmitigated disaster. Even if he died before election day, his polling advantage would give him the win still. And his opponent is heavily tied to Trump, so the hope is that she drags him down.

Yeah...I FEEL like it's kinda 2016 just flipped...that Harris is underrepresented in the polling and she'll outperform just based on where I live...one of the most conservative Counties in the Country(or...so I've heard many people say, but it is about 130K and has been up to 80% Republican)...but we've had people from the DNC out, I also see Harris signs. That would have been unheard of 4 or 8 years ago.

But I've also underestimated Trump and I really think he'd be so disastrous, I don't want to get too excited.

We'll see in a couple of weeks. I can't wait until we can just agree on FACTS again. Like....what the CPI was last month, and what the GDP(accounting for inflation) is. Simple things like that...

Speaking of which, I just saw Steve Ballmer, owner of the Clippers get called out for being "woke," and I watched the video...and he's just giving the most basic numbers. 'This is what GDP means, Gross Domestic Product, the Real GDP is accounting for Inflation." Shitl ike that. Then he went and he even did the 2019 before Covid, 2020 Covid and then the latest. And that was him lying for Harris. So...yeah, I'd like that to stop.

For what it is worth, the people that I know that are Trump supporters do not have signs in their yard because they view the signs make them a target for the "tolerant left" and do not want their property destroyed.

Deficit spending and gov’t hiring is smoke screening the GDP.  Manufacturing and productivity, labor participation rates, tell a different story.

FACT CHECK: No, the Smoot-Hawley Tariff wasn't the main cause of the Great Depression because it was passed several months after the Depression had started.

  • OCT 1929: The stock market crashed, marking the beginning of the Great Depression.
  • JUN 1930: The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act was passed.

The initial crash was fueled by stock speculation and an unstable economy, which led to a liquidity crisis and a drop in confidence. This resulted in the early bank runs and deflation. While the Smoot-Hawley Tariff had negative effects, it came later and fueled the existing problem.

For those against tariffs.

If we trade with Country A and they charge tariffs on our stuff, should we charge tariffs on their stuff?

If we trade with Country B and they don't charge tariffs on our stuff should we charge tariffs on their stuff?

If we trade with Country C and they continually steal proprietary data from us and undercut our manufacturing due to their low payrates and charge tariffs on our stuff, should we charge tariffs on their stuff?

I can 100% guarantee that inflation will re accelerate if trump gets elected. Mark my word. He initiated it in late 2020 w his covid spending and tax cuts and he'll do it again.

Funny how that didn't happen during his presidency.  It is still higher than when Trump was in office.  I will not doubt that the pandemic spending had to happen.   Government forced businesses to shut and government needed to make that right.

But Biden didn't need to jump on the bandwagon and continue the spending as the pandemic economic crisis was winding down and then we got hit with the inflation reduction act which was a smokescreen for funding clean energy projects.   Fortunately,  Rs gained the House and that stopped the stupid spending.   As a result, inflation has gone down but that is no thanks to Biden.   See, mixed government is a good thing most of the time.

It’s time for more of Trump’s magic wand.  (When remarking on Trump’s claim that he would grow the economy, Olbama said “What’s he gonna do, wave his magic wand?”)
