US Greco ends the tournament with 1 win, feels disappointing even though medals weren't expected.

Then Jacarra drops her opener to Mansi (India)

Tough little stretch, women will obviously win some matches. Kilty/Welker should preform, but eh this start has me feeling less than fresh.

Ready for tomorrow

Just jumped on here for the first time ( I'm at work ssshhhhhh... )

Yeah... Hafizov lost 7-1 to Bulgaria's Amaev, other than that, the "high' point was Peak's TF win over the Iranian Olympic champ... US greco crashed out like that video clip of that ski-jumper in the Wide World of Sports intro.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I think she has a solid chance to pull Winchester back in - dare I say she is even the favorite to do so.

I am less high on Kilty than I am Welker this week.  While Kilty has that dog in her, I think the talent gap between Welker and most of the field is far greater than Kilty and her field.

Who thought that Kilty would get zorched 11-4 by Roumania's Zelenykh w/TWO 4 pt throws in a row?

Woah!

Jiang of China lost to Molinari (11-8) at a ranking series event last year.

Since then she has won Asians at 72 KG this year.  It should be a good match.

The victor likely gets Ishi of Japan, who won U23s last week (just like Welker), albeit at 68 KG rather than 72 KG.

Welker just won by fall... into the semis she goes.

Against Japan's Ishii.

The first and second Sad vs Snyder for starters.

Disagree. The first match was Snyder's peak result. The second was Sadulaev showing us as much.

I love Snyderman...but his win over Sadulaev was an aberration. He's never been close since. That's not to say Snyder isn't one of the best US guys we've ever had...but he's not really in Sadulaev's league when you look objectively at the head-to-head and career results.

Taylor/Sadulaev is far more interesting, IMO.

Snyder beat the puffy version of Sad, not the filled-out 97 version, that pinned him. He may be called our Captain America, but we’re the only nation that may see it that way sadly.

Areana Villaescusa is one of a couple of WCAP soldiers my wife has had in her classes over the years. Just told her she made the semis at 55kg. She's about to watch her first UWW Worlds match.

Someone have a reasonable best guess for the time of the Taylor / Sad match?  Eastern U.S. time preferred.

Albania started a week ahead of us for Daylight savings, so wrestling doesn't actually start until 5:30 AM (US-Easern).
