Apparently, David Taylor has flipped another top recruit from the class of 2025, in Sergio Vega.  This goes along with flips of Landon Robideau and Cody Routledge from the same class (all top 10 P4P).  Seems that such a great coach with an open checkbook from a billionaire donor could go after more uncommitted recruits.

where was vega committed(cornell, wow great move in the big scheme)?

Taylor's transition is showing a lot of how ugly it is backstage.

so the transfer portal is fine, but kids flipping their commit before their senior year of hs starts is bad.

do i have this correct?

People have been brainwashed from decades of very bad NCAA rules and autocratic coaches/ADs to accept that is the way it should be.

It's just that kids never flipped their commitments in the past.  This is a new problem that has everyone concerned.

Unless he signed with Cornell his commitment is just verbal. Tons of people in all sports have flipped past minute. One of the best football players at my alma mater was considered a lock to go to USC and then on signing day he flipped.

Even you can't be that naive.

That does seem to be Yianni’s opinion, yes

Ironic that Cornell's head coach flipped from Lehigh to Cornell the day before classes started.  It is strange decommiting from an Ivy League school to go to Cowtown U. though.

Some people like cowtowns, as opposed to being surrounded by elitists.  Just saying….

Sure, if you imagine that you're gonna do anything else besides wrestle the rest of you're life. The best of the best don't, and I imagine all of these types of recruits think that they are in that category. They figure they are the next ________.

My favorite college football story is Eric Dickerson getting a corvette to commit to A&M and then driving that car to his signing with SMU.  A&M had no recourse to recover the illegally gifted car.

His grandmother bought it for him. Where do people get these stories? 😂

C'mon man it was only a Pontiac Trans Am and what happened to SMU?
