Little Rock with two transfers coming in at 149

As well as a returning starter that has three more years of eligibility.  Dutton might have gone 9W - 13L last season, but he was in a lot of matches with a lot of high level placers.  His average margin of loss the last month of the season was a ~takedown.  That is primarily against the PAC12 gents - Singleton, Lamer, Abas, and Parco.  5W-6L down the stretch with those six losses coming to the aforementioned gents.

My take:

133 - Witcraft VS McComas
141 - Hughes, Young or Jamison could go down if they lose the wrestleoff up at 149
149 - Jamison VS Young
157 - Fish VS Teague (If Fish loses, he Redshirts), Young could go up if he loses to Jamison
197 - Surber VS Merrill (Merrill could redshirt, if he loses)

Fair take. Trackwrestling weight certifications show Cael at 133, Tagen at 141, Young at 149, Teague at 157, and Fish at 157. I know those don't tell the whole story but it is consistent with what the official OK State roster shows. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I hear that Cael and Tagen have pretty rough cuts, I'm assuming Fish would too. Curious to see what Taylor's approach is with those tough weight cuts.

Great point, I missed it.  Was surprised they brought in two from portal at his weight.

I have a hard time seeing Swiderski happy sitting on the sidelines.

I don't know about being happy about it, but Dresser wants him to RS and get better at wrestlng. Toughness is there.

The guys on FRL brought up the potential of Devino going right away at 133. I had not really thought about it but given they are in the trophy hunt if they feel he is an improvement over bouzakis it would make sense to have him go. I will be very interested to see the results of that wrestle off.

It looks like OSUW is scheduled for the 22nd.

VT’s board indicates true freshman Campbell is cutting to 125 to challenge Ventresca. I don’t think VT has true wrestle offs anymore though. Dillon will likely get up to his 5 starts before a decision is made if it’s a close match up.

I had three severe grade three concussions in the span of a single year.  I'm not sure if it was that, or the lead paint in the walls of my room, but I think my personality was forever changed after that.  Concussion is a good reason for a break.

As a devils advocate, it would be something that might be easy to fake for a medical forfeit if needed

Doubt this kind of gamesmanship is going on but after listening to the FRL guys, it sounds like chittum sitting would clear up a log jam at those weights.

A couple of things to consider about the logjam there is that Johnson and Echemendia are still expected to wrestleoff for the 149lbs spot.

If Echemendia loses, does he go back down to 141, or up to 157?

What does that do about 157, if Echemendia goes down?  Do we see Swiderski come out and chop wood?

Kyler Larkin appears to be grey shirting like his brother did. Do not see him on the ASU roster.

He's on the roster on the schools website wrestling page. He's not going to be in the lineup so a grey shirt would make sense to save his redshirt for another time.

Team wise Ech at 141 and Swiderski at 157 would be amazing (if they were able to have success at those weights).....I cannot see Ech getting back down to 141 though...that is quite the pull.

I don't think any fakery is needed, not just in this case.   It seems they are giving medicals away like candy in recent years. (Not implying Chittum is faking)

He may not be quite ready for d1 wrestling yet but I see a world where Meza is a better option than terukina as well and while it was in freestyle he does have a career win over Luke lilledahl in the last 16months and hes a lot of peoples pick to win 125. Iowa state feels like they have a path to being a top 3 team but also a fairly low floor but I hope they can put it all together lineup wise.

not fake. shot in on Ech, head to knee and he was down. He REALLY wants to wrestle this year.

Meza is tough as hell. I think Terukina is at 133 right now, but could come back down. Meza is at 125 and he will have to beat Grice. I think Grice ends up being the man at 125, but we will find out a lot on Sunday

LEHIGH's intrasquad match is scheduled for Thurs. 10/24 @ 7pm in Leeman-Turner Arena @ Grace Hall.

Not the end-all be-all for the final lineup to start the season, but we could see some of the young up-coming wrestlers on center mat.
A nice possible matchup could be Luke Stanich, returning AA vs  veteran and rnd of twelve wrestler Malyke Hines. (Stanich may be taking a RS year, as far as we know... )

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
