Has Trumble outgrown 197? He looked really jacked the last time I seen him

he very well may have, I think thats the best fit because I don't know that they have another guy that will be good at 197 and trephen could low AA but he may just be a heavyweight now hes really tall.

good call! maybe Baysingar could slot in at 149 at some point down the line.

I don’t know about that—I tend to doubt it.  They bumped him up to 149 against Northwestern true freshman and it seemed to me too much for him.  Also, they have the Bennett kid from Ohio coming in who is a 149/157.  Seems like best case scenario is if Byrd can stay at 133.  Baysingar takes over at 141 when Pucino is done?

My stab at Oklahoma State's lineup next year.

125- Spratley

133- Hughes (another kid that was undefeated at Stillwater high./ pretty much the same resume as Fix had in High School.)

141- Jamison ( Not shocked if Carter Young transfers, not thinking he can beat Jamison)

149- Williams

157- Travis

165- Will be the ?  Need a another Olejnik type to fill the gap.

174-Thompson

184- Plott

197- Surber

HWT- Carroll

With 4 freshmen (Spratley, Jamison, Williams and Thompson) I think all 4 of them may AA next year, they all have great protential.  Spratley did beat lots of ranked kids this year (example: Stanich, Surtin  and Figueroa). Jamison beat Echemendia and Hardy.  Williams beat Swiderski and Rathjen. Thompson beat Mocco and Simma.

Surber was the biggest disappointment to me this year.  I also understand he was hurt a lot of the year.

Really excited to see what Christian Carroll can do.

Gotcha. I’m a vt fan and know he’d be a problem no matter what weight he goes

I always heard Carter Young would go 133 once fix finally graduated

I think this is much more likely than my lineup outside of Yas at 133 (Zeke will live and die with Chlebove). I just really want to keep Teemer away from Messenbrink. I still think he could steal a match from Haines.

What’s your point? Those are going to be the top 2 guys at the weight once Kerk is gone , I believe Mullen has a win over pitzer

I was just asking a question from the part in BOLD is all.

I also thought this.  I do believe he went 70 KG for MFS for a tournament or two though, didn't he?

Hopefully ASU can pick up Cardenas and then maybe add another heavy hitter at any weight above 157. If they landed somebody like Hamiti that would be a big pickup. They might have enough to challenge for the top next year if they can do that. Lower weights are going to be a mess. Several guys who could be starting might be on the bench.

They should be fine at 165 with Ruiz. I was one of the top 10 recruits last year and in one of his few dual appearances he beat the defending Pac 12 champion Oloquin from Oregon St. His other dual appearance was verus Carr, with the exprected result of a true freshman facing a NCAA champ.

I don't believe he could make 133 next year, and I'm pretty sure Cael Hughes can mop the floor with Carter Young.  I might be wrong but I think Hughes is OSU's next big time stud.

No, I hope you're right.  USA Wrestling is better when Penn State, Iowa, and Oklahoma State is better.

Good idea to up the number of wrestlers w NCAA titles.   Maybe ditch Hamitti for Carr and get 100% Jesus bonus NCAA eligibility as part of an NCAA-Wrestling Faith Community initiative?

For NC State, I am hoping Trumble goes HWT.  It is clear his aptitude for Freestyle is high and his weight is 97 KG (213lbs).  I don't want him emaciated for it with his 18' wingspan and 12' frame.  I would rather he weight 230lbs and make the drop/cut to 213lbs when it is needed.

That kind of leaves Trephan high and dry, but the end game isn't NCAA success for Trumble, and it shouldn't be.

Stanford:

125: Provo

133: Tyler Knox

141: Aden Valencia

149: Jaden Abas/Jack Consiglio

157: Dan Cardenas

165: Hunter Garvin

174: Lorenzo Norman

184: Tye Montiero/Jack Darrah

197: Jack Darrah/Nick Stemmet

285: Ming/Mankowski/Stemmet

Ming, Stemmet, and Abas all walked on Senior night, but I expect to see at least one back.

This is a pretty solid lineup.  Would be nice if Stanford could pick up a 197/HWT in the portal, esp. if Stemmet is done.  They've recovered awfully well for having missed a year of recruiting when the program was tentatively dropped a few years back.

A lot of those recruits are directly because of Koll (his recruits).  I was pleasantly surprised when a lot of them didn't open back up after he left for UNC.

I am pretty sure there was some sort of promise of 9.9 schollies to Koll and that was a reason he was staying rather than head to Oklahoma (he was their first choice).  After he left they dropped it back down to whatever it was.

I believe that he is done as this was his senior year eligibility wise.
