I think Spencer will go for this dual.  If it starts at 133 or 141 and Iowa is up big he won't, but Brands cares a great deal about winning this dual.  I think Murin will handle Johnson just like I think Carr is too fast for Kennedy.

125- Spencer by fall 6-0

133- Teske close 9-0

141- The little Metcalf over Woods 9-3

149 Murin  by 5.  12=3

157 Magic ends for Iowa  12-9

165 Carr too fast. 12-12

174- Brands easy 15-12

184 Assad almost but coleman clutch 15-15

197- Warner is a squeaker 18-15

285- Cass showing seperation and pinning. 24-15

I think Lee will be used sparingly, but I believe (with no inside info) that his final Cy-Hawk Dual will be one of those moments.

This is my thought as well

Man, I would love to see him vs ISU but 11 months after double knee surgery just doesn't sound like enough time to get into something resembling wrestling shape

That would be a problem if Spencer was any type of normal wrestler.  But he regularly techs or pins top 20 opponents in 3-4 minutes and has even won NCAAs with blown ACL.  There is no reason to think that a 60% Spencer wouldn’t pin/tech Terukina.

I saw on HR a couple posts reporting that Teske is on his way down to 125. Sounded like a load of bologna but today, someone I know who purports to catch wind of insider info corroborated that fact.

For what it's worth, my "source" likes to overexaggerate how much of an insider he actually is and never gave me any novel info (that I couldn't find online first) but I found it curious that he was saying the same stuff, especially since he claims to not read HR or twitter

Brands said in an interview a few weeks ago that Teske wasn't certified at 125, so, if that is true, he can't be going down to 125 lbs.

Plus it doesn't make a lot of sense situationally.

"hey while your competing to win a starting spot at 133, do you mind losing 8 pounds to cover a dual? it will seriously undermine your long term goals but we don't like cyclones!"

"Sure! Can I keep the spot?"

"No its gonna go to Lee without a wrestle off, what do you want us to look like idiots?"

It only makes sense if Lee is done.

I believe that's what the insinuation behind the rumor is, but I just don't think there's any reason to believe that.  If there were even a scintilla of proof backing this up, we'll find out when Patrick Minnow pretends he's got the scoop 3 days from now.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if you offered a bet that the opposite was closer to the team score I would take it.

i have to say its similar to last year when I was absolutely abused after the glory thing for saying either he should be wrestling now or not at all, and was correct, just not in the way anyone wanted.

If he is really still a question mark you would think the Brands' would have been smart enough to spin him as doubtful and make it good news if he came back, the current spin just makes them look ridiculous.

Shirley you can't be serious.  🙄

When asked about Spencer Lee, Real Woods, and Brody Teske's health in Tuesday's press conference, Tom Brands responded

"I know they (Lee, Teske, Woods) want to get on the mat. They're excited to get on the mat. Our fans want them on the mat. We want them on the mat. Just gotta keep working towards it." - Tom Brands

This would sure make for an eggciting dual!
