At 149, especially with SVN out, he has a good shot at winning it all.  141 seems deeper to me

Well he has been wrestling at 65 KG pretty recently, so he won't be a full-size 149lber.

"good shot" ... is that really the best you can do?  😕

I'd like to see him compete, but would be a little surprised if he came back this season. Would he be doing it to fulfill an NIL deal or what? I thought he was keyed into staying injury-free and repping Mexico next summer.

Now all he needs is the signature of his last coach.  Shouldn't be a problem.  Who was that again?

Come on now, it wasn't the coach it was the AD who had to sign off... The coach had nothing to do with it, remember, completely out of his hands.

In all seriousness, I thought we already knew this was happening.  As a Grad Transfer he doesn't need a waiver so I assume this is just a procedural step.

Gotta be Michigan I would think.  He's been training at Cliff Keen - they are also one of the places in the US that is probably the capital for people that wrestle for different country world teams.  Serbia, San Marino, Mexico, Italy, and Israel (in addition to the US)

I think PSU started this though.  Multiple foreign wrestlers: Uzbekistan, PR,  Mexico, anyone else?? (and Micic doesn't train at U of Michigan; he has his own facility in Chicago)

I heard the PSU rumors today too... seems somewhat unnecessary for PSU, but there is the RBY connect.

Penn State has almost as much representation but not quite as much.  Doesn't matter who started it.  Also, Gomez being from the Midwest makes it even more probable he ends up at Michigan.  It makes sense that there would be rumors about Penn State, but I don't expect intelligent people will fall for it

I am even hearing smoke on the Penn State route that has me a little worried, myself.

I think and hope it will be Michigan, still.

I just don't see him in the student directory yet.

Penn State has two likely Mexican National Team members in RBY and Dr. Valencia.

For the masses only paying attention to folkstyle:

Dr. Valencia is Jane Valencia, MD. Not Anthony (or Zahid, who wrestles for USA) Valencia. Her story is fascinating and puts us rubes to shame.

I really thought about having some fun with this one but it would get so out of hand so quick that it would not be registered as the usual shtick methinks. So giving the doc her deserved props.
