Good question.  I don't know how many teams from other divisions would be of a similar caliber to the bottom rung of division one.  If wrestlestat dual rankings are a guide, Gannon is the 18th ranked dual team in D2.  Kent State is 69th in D1

This was ~15 years ago, but I wrestled for a D3 team that was usually ranked in the teens and we beat a bottom rung D1 school one year.

What is going on in Wyoming? One win!!!

I know they had a lot of wrestlers hit the transfer portal last 2 years, something seems off.

Laramie WY has to be a tough place to keep anything going. 31k people, sparsely populated state, extreme weather in all seasons... as a Pokes fan I want Mark Branch to do well but its not exactly a destination university.

30 years ago, I was on a D2 team  generally ranked in the 9th to 16th range.  We probably wrestled almost half of our matches against lower tier D1 schools, and had plenty of dual wins.

Much different time, though.
